First Impressions of Safariland Model 7378rds 7ts Als Concealment Paddle & Belt Loop Combo Holster For Cz P10c W/ Light 7378RDS-39219-412
The Safariland Model 7378rds 7ts Als Concealment Paddle & Belt Loop Combo Holster For Cz P10c W/ Light 7378RDS-39219-412 immediately presents itself as a serious contender in the crowded concealed carry market. Designed by Safariland, a name synonymous with law enforcement and military-grade gear, this holster promises both security and accessibility for the popular CZ P10c pistol equipped with a weapon light and red dot optic. The combination of the Automatic Locking System (ALS) and the rugged Safariseven material hints at a holster built for demanding use.
As a firearms instructor and someone who carries daily, I was looking for a holster that offered both a high level of retention and a comfortable, concealable design. Many holsters sacrifice one for the other, but Safariland has a reputation for balancing both. I was specifically drawn to the 7378RDS because it accommodates my CZ P10c with a light and optic, a combination many holsters don’t support.
Upon unboxing, the holster felt solid and well-constructed. The Safariseven material had a unique, almost textured feel that inspired confidence. Compared to my old Kydex holster, the Safariland felt less brittle and more forgiving.
Initially, I was considering a similar holster from Blackhawk, but I’ve had durability issues with their Serpa system in the past. Ultimately, the Safariland’s reputation for reliability and the positive reviews of the ALS system swayed me. I felt a surge of anticipation, hoping this holster would finally solve my concealed carry needs for my P10c.
Real-World Testing: Putting Safariland Model 7378rds 7ts Als Concealment Paddle & Belt Loop Combo Holster For Cz P10c W/ Light 7378RDS-39219-412 to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Safariland 7378RDS at my local shooting range and during several days of concealed carry around town. The initial testing environment was controlled, allowing me to focus on draw speed and retention. My carry gun is more than a tool to me, its peace of mind, but only if its as reliable as my training.
Even in the summer heat, the Safariseven material didn’t become overly slick or uncomfortable against my skin. The ALS system took a little getting used to, but after a few practice draws, the thumb release became instinctive. No malfunctions occured and my gun remained secure even with running.
I experienced no major issues, but the paddle initially felt a bit bulky compared to other holsters I’ve used. This was something I was prepared to compromise on because I preferred the added retention.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Safariland holster continues to perform admirably. There are no cracks or signs of wear in the Safariseven material, even with daily use and the stress of repeated draws. My carry holster has to keep up with the demands I put on it.
The holster is remarkably easy to clean; dirt and grime wipe off effortlessly. Compared to my old leather holster, this Safariland is a breeze to maintain. I’ve been very impressed.
This holster outperforms all previous holsters I’ve used in terms of retention and the added benefit of being able to carry my pistol with a light and optic. I can confidently say this has met, and exceeded, my expectations.
