Marketed by 5.11 Tactical, a trusted name in law enforcement and military gear, these gloves are designed to provide a secure grip and comfortable fit. The minimalist design, coupled with the promise of durable materials, immediately piqued my interest as someone constantly seeking the optimal balance of protection and tactile sensitivity.
My search for a pair of gloves that wouldn’t sacrifice dexterity for protection led me to the 5.11 Tactical Competition Shtg Glv 2.0 5-59394134M. Too often, I’ve encountered gloves that feel bulky and clumsy, hindering my ability to manipulate firearms or tools effectively. I needed something that offered a snug fit, exceptional grip, and sufficient protection without compromising my fine motor skills.
Upon unboxing the 5.11 Tactical Competition Shtg Glv 2.0 5-59394134M, I was immediately impressed by their lightweight feel and streamlined design. The materials felt supple yet durable, and the construction appeared solid and well-executed. I considered the Mechanix Wear Original gloves and the PIG Full Dexterity Tactical (FDT) Alpha gloves before settling on the 5.11 Tactical offering. While the Mechanix Wear gloves are a reliable and affordable option, I wanted something with a more specialized design for shooting and tactical applications. The PIG FDT Alpha gloves are a great choice as well, but the 5.11 Tactical Competition Shtg Glv 2.0 5-59394134M seemed to strike a better balance of protection, dexterity, and price point.
