Rounded by Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Plus Line Holster Optic Ready w/Claw & Monoblock Clip for Kel-Tec PMR30 Review

First Impressions of Rounded by Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Plus Line Holster Optic Ready w/Claw & Monoblock Clip for Kel-Tec PMR30

The Kel-Tec PMR30 is a unique firearm, chambered in .22 WMR with a staggering 30-round magazine capacity. Finding a holster that adequately addresses its size and potential concealment challenges has always been a bit of a quest. Rounded by Concealment Express aims to solve this issue with their IWB KYDEX Plus Line Holster, featuring an optic-ready design, a concealment claw, and a Monoblock clip.

My search for the ideal PMR30 holster stemmed from a need for comfortable and reliable concealed carry. The factory holster options are limited, and I wanted something specifically designed for IWB carry, particularly given the PMR30’s longer frame. I was looking for a holster that would allow me to comfortably carry this firearm for self-defense, whether on the range or during outdoor activities.

Upon unboxing, the holster presented a clean, minimalist design. The KYDEX material felt rigid and well-formed, exhibiting good build quality with smooth edges. It was surprisingly lightweight, which immediately sparked my interest, given that a lighter holster would improve comfort for everyday carry.

I considered options from Vedder Holsters and StealthGearUSA, but I was drawn to the Rounded by Concealment Express holster due to its affordability and specific features. The promise of optic compatibility, the inclusion of a claw for better concealment, and the use of a Monoblock clip seemed like a well-rounded package at a compelling price point. This holster also seemed less bulky than other options available online, such as some nylon-based holsters that are not specifically molded for the PMR30.

My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The holster appeared well-made, and the features seemed promising, but the true test would come with real-world use. I was eager to see how it performed under practical conditions and whether it could live up to my expectations for comfortable and discreet concealed carry.

Real-World Testing: Putting Rounded by Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Plus Line Holster Optic Ready w/Claw & Monoblock Clip for Kel-Tec PMR30 to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the Rounded by Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Plus Line Holster Optic Ready w/Claw & Monoblock Clip for Kel-Tec PMR30 at my local shooting range. I wanted to assess its draw speed, retention, and overall comfort during live fire. The weather was sunny and warm, offering no specific environmental challenges.

The initial draw was smooth and consistent, thanks to the undercut trigger guard. The “PosiClick” retention provided satisfying audible feedback, confirming the firearm was securely holstered. I did need a few practice draws to find the perfect angle, but the adjustable cant allowed me to dial in my preferred carry position.

After the first few uses, I noticed the claw did an excellent job of pulling the grip of the PMR30 closer to my body. This drastically reduced printing, making it easier to conceal the pistol under a light shirt. No major issues arose during the initial range session.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of consistent use, the Rounded by Concealment Express holster has held up remarkably well. I’ve worn it daily for a variety of activities, from running errands to light hiking. The KYDEX material has shown no signs of cracking or deformation.

There are some very minor scuff marks on the exterior of the holster, but this is cosmetic and expected with daily use. The holster is easily cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Its simple design prevents debris from accumulating in hard-to-reach areas.

Compared to a generic nylon holster I previously used, the Rounded by Concealment Express offers significantly better retention, concealment, and overall comfort. It’s specifically molded for the PMR30, resulting in a secure and snug fit that minimizes movement and prevents unwanted shifting. The Rounded by Concealment Express holster has exceeded my expectations and provided a significant upgrade to my concealed carry setup for the Kel-Tec PMR30.
