First Thoughts on the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case 9″L x 6″ H Tan Padded Nylon with Pocket & Sleeve for Handgun
The Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case 9″L x 6″ H Tan Padded Nylon with Pocket & Sleeve for Handgun is a seemingly straightforward, no-frills option from Bulldog for transporting a handgun to the range or storing it securely. With its emphasis on simplicity and durability, it presents itself as a practical solution for gun owners seeking basic protection without breaking the bank. The promise of an impact-resistant, padded interior, along with a water-resistant exterior, immediately piqued my interest, as reliable protection is paramount.
For years, I’ve relied on a repurposed camera bag and a bulky, hard-sided case to transport my handguns. The camera bag offered little real protection, and the hard case was often overkill for simple trips to the range. I wanted something smaller and more discreet than the hard case but more protective than the camera bag – the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case seemed like a potential middle ground.
Upon receiving the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case, my first impression was positive. The tan nylon exterior felt reasonably durable, and the padding inside seemed adequate for basic impact protection. Compared to my flimsy camera bag and the over-engineered hard case, this Bulldog case offered a compelling balance of size and protection. I was excited to see how it would perform in real-world conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case 9″L x 6″ H Tan Padded Nylon with Pocket & Sleeve for Handgun to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case during a trip to my local shooting range. It was a typical range day – sunny, but slightly dusty. I used the case to transport my Glock 19, two magazines, and a small cleaning kit.
The case performed admirably in keeping the Glock 19 secure. The interior barrel sleeve proved effective in preventing the handgun from shifting during transport, which I appreciated. The ease of access was also noteworthy – the full-length zipper allowed me to quickly retrieve my handgun at the firing line.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case has held up surprisingly well. I’ve taken it on multiple range trips and even used it for storing a handgun in my truck’s console. The nylon exterior has shown no signs of tearing or fraying, despite being tossed around and subjected to minor abrasion.
While the case has remained intact, I did notice slight compression of the padding in the areas that experience the most pressure, particularly around the muzzle end. Cleaning is relatively simple; a damp cloth easily removes dust and grime from the nylon exterior. Overall, the Bulldog Deluxe Pistol Case has exceeded my initial expectations in terms of durability and reliability, especially considering its budget-friendly price point.
