I’m eager to see if this accessory lives up to the hype and truly improves situational awareness in the field.
My journey towards acquiring the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen stemmed from frustrations experienced during long scanning sessions. Upon unboxing the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen, I was immediately impressed by its solid construction. The anodized aircraft aluminum housing felt robust and the aviation-quality connection appeared secure. Its weight felt substantial without being cumbersome, suggesting a good balance between durability and portability.
Having considered other screen options, I ultimately chose the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen for its seamless integration with my existing PARD optics. The promise of a quick-release design and matching IPX7 rating was a major selling point. I wanted a hassle-free setup that could withstand harsh weather conditions.
My initial impression was one of cautious optimism. While the build quality and feature set seemed promising, the true test would be its performance in the field. I was excited to see if this accessory could transform my hunting and observation experiences.
Real-World Testing: Putting PARD Optics LCD Display Screen to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen on a nighttime hog hunt in central Texas. The terrain was rugged, and the weather was damp, providing a realistic test of its capabilities. I connected the screen to my PARD night vision scope and began scanning the surrounding fields.
The larger screen immediately made a difference, allowing for a much more relaxed and panoramic view. Instead of squinting through the scope’s eyepiece, I could easily monitor a wider area with both eyes. The display remained clear even in the humid conditions.
The initial setup was surprisingly easy, and the quick-release mechanism proved its worth when I needed to detach the screen for storage or close-quarters maneuvering. I encountered no immediate issues and found the screen intuitive to use.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen has proven to be a reliable addition to my gear. The aircraft aluminum housing has withstood bumps and scrapes without showing significant wear. The IPX7 water resistance has also been tested by light rain and dew, and it has passed with flying colors.
Maintenance is straightforward: a simple wipe-down with a microfiber cloth keeps the screen clean. I have noticed no degradation in image quality or connectivity over time. It has become an indispensable tool for observation.
Compared to my previous experiences of relying solely on the scope’s eyepiece, the PARD Optics LCD Display Screen offers a dramatically improved viewing experience. The increased comfort and situational awareness make it a worthwhile investment. It outperforms my expectations.
