I was initially drawn to the Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait because of its advertised versatility. I needed a bait that could be fished effectively in both clear and murky water, presenting a realistic profile to entice wary bass.
Upon opening the package, I was immediately struck by the bait’s lifelike appearance and soft, pliable texture. The bait felt durable enough to withstand multiple casts and retrieves, yet soft enough to impart a natural action in the water.
Compared to similar jerk baits like the Zoom Fluke or the Strike King KVD Swim-N-Shiner, the Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait seemed to offer a slightly more pronounced darting action. This promised to be a more erratic presentation, potentially triggering strikes from bass that were accustomed to more subtle movements.

Real-World Testing: Putting Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait on a local reservoir known for its clear water and healthy population of largemouth bass. I rigged the bait on a 3/0 EWG hook with no weight, opting for a weightless presentation to maximize its darting action.
The Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait performed admirably in the clear water. Its erratic darting action proved irresistible to several aggressive bass that were actively feeding on shad.
I found that the bait was easy to use. The slightest twitch of the rod tip was enough to impart a realistic darting motion.
The only minor issue I encountered during my first outing was the bait’s tendency to roll slightly on the retrieve in heavy current.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use in various conditions, including stained water and windy conditions, the Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait has proven to be a durable and reliable lure. There are no signs of tearing or damage.
The bait has held up remarkably well to repeated casts and hooksets. It is also very easy to clean and store.
Compared to other soft plastic jerk baits I’ve used in the past, the Googan Squad Dart Plastic Misc Creature Bait has consistently outperformed them in terms of its darting action and overall fish-catching ability.
