First Impressions of Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife
The Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife immediately strikes you as a sleek and modern tool, a far cry from the rugged, almost brutalist aesthetic of some tactical blades. Bestech Knives has crafted something that feels equally at home in a display case as it does strapped to a pack. The carbon fiber and G10 handle, combined with the clean lines of the blade, suggest a level of sophistication and attention to detail that I was eager to explore.
My search for the perfect everyday carry (EDC) knife had become something of an obsession. I needed something robust enough for light outdoor tasks but refined enough not to look out of place when I’m opening a package in the office. The Bestech Irida seemed to thread that needle perfectly.
Unboxing the Irida, the first thing I noticed was its weight. It felt substantial without being bulky. The carbon fiber/G10 handle offered a secure grip, and the blade deployed smoothly with a satisfying snap.
I considered a few other knives before settling on the Irida. The Benchmade Bugout was a strong contender due to its lightweight design, but I felt it lacked the robustness I desired. A Spyderco Paramilitary 2 was also in the running, but its aggressive styling wasn’t quite what I was after for a more versatile EDC.
My first impression was one of excitement. The Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It offered a blend of style, quality, and functionality that I was eager to test in the real world.
Real-World Testing: Putting Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing ground for the Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife was a weekend camping trip in the nearby Appalachian Mountains. The variable weather conditions and need for reliable cutting tools made it an ideal trial. I used the Irida for everything from preparing kindling to slicing rope and food preparation.
The knife performed admirably in diverse conditions, from dry sunny afternoons to a damp, misty morning. The G10 provided excellent grip even when wet. The blade remained sharp and easily tackled every task I threw at it.
The knife deployed quickly and locked securely, instilling confidence in its reliability. I needed no time to adjust to the knife’s ergonomics. The Irida felt like a natural extension of my hand from the very first use.
The only minor issue was that cleaning sap from the blade required a bit more effort than with some of my other knives due to the blade’s geometry. However, this was a small price to pay for its overall performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of almost daily use, the Bestech Knives Irida Linerlock CF/G10 Folding Knife has proven to be a reliable and durable tool. I’ve carried it during hikes, fishing trips, and even used it for everyday tasks around the house. It has consistently delivered excellent performance.
The blade has held its edge remarkably well, showing only minimal signs of wear and tear. The liner lock remains solid and secure, with no signs of loosening or play. The carbon fiber/G10 handle shows no signs of scratching or fading.
Maintenance is straightforward; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth after use is usually sufficient. I apply a small amount of oil to the pivot point every few weeks to maintain smooth action. The knife has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability.
Compared to some of my previous EDC knives, the Irida stands out for its balance of performance, aesthetics, and durability. It outperforms many of its competitors in its price range.
