The Cor Bon .454 Casull 335 Grain Hard Cast Jacketed Hollow Point Brass Cased Pistol Ammunition HT454335HC/20 40% Off isn’t just another round; it’s a statement. It’s a declaration that you’re prepared for serious game, built for those who demand maximum penetration and stopping power. Cor Bon, a name synonymous with innovative hunting ammunition, promises a round designed for taking down large, tough, and dangerous animals.
I’ve spent years guiding hunters in Alaska and the Yukon. We’ve encountered everything from agitated grizzlies to massive moose, often requiring more than just a standard defense caliber. I needed a handgun round that could offer a reliable last line of defense or a humane killing shot on wounded game.
The first thing I noticed upon unboxing was the quality of the brass casing and the distinct profile of the hard cast jacketed hollow point. These rounds look like they mean business, the jacket providing controlled expansion while the hard cast core ensures deep penetration. They inspire confidence.
Compared to similar offerings from Buffalo Bore or Underwood, the Cor Bon stood out due to its balance of bullet weight, velocity, and controlled expansion. While others offered heavier bullets, the Cor Bon’s 335-grain projectile seemed like the sweet spot for manageable recoil and maximum energy transfer. My initial impression was one of cautious excitement; this ammunition felt like it could deliver on its promise, but only real-world testing would tell.

First Use Experience
My first experience with the Cor Bon .454 Casull 335 Grain Hard Cast Jacketed Hollow Point Brass Cased Pistol Ammunition was at a remote shooting range nestled in the Montana wilderness. I fired the rounds from a Ruger Alaskan, a revolver known for its robust construction and ability to handle high-pressure loads. I tested the ammunition in varying weather conditions, from a dry, sunny afternoon to a drizzly, overcast morning. The rounds performed consistently in both scenarios, exhibiting no noticeable degradation in performance due to moisture. The ease of use was straightforward; the rounds loaded smoothly into the cylinder, and I experienced no misfires or malfunctions. The first-time experience was impressive, confirming the ammunition’s reliability under duress.

After months of carrying the Cor Bon rounds in the field, I’ve found them to be remarkably reliable. They’ve been subjected to the rigors of backcountry hunting, enduring exposure to extreme temperatures, rough handling, and prolonged storage in a leather cartridge belt. There’s been no sign of degradation or corrosion, which speaks volumes about the quality of the materials and construction.
Maintenance is simple; a quick wipe-down of the cartridges after exposure to moisture is all that’s needed. Compared to my previous experiences with other brands, the Cor Bon ammunition has consistently outperformed them in terms of reliability and consistent performance.
