The H-S Precision H-S Pro-Series PST007 Remington 700 BDL Short Action Right Hand is more than just a stock; it’s a meticulously crafted chassis designed to elevate the performance of the venerable Remington 700. Manufactured by H-S Precision, this stock boasts a full-length aluminum bedding block, adjustable length of pull and cheek piece, and an ambidextrous palm swell grip. These features promise a tailored shooting experience, enhancing accuracy and comfort regardless of the shooter’s build or environmental conditions.

As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I was drawn to this stock because of its promise of enhanced ergonomics and precision. My aging back and a penchant for long-range shooting demanded a solution that would allow me to maintain a stable and comfortable shooting position for extended periods. I was searching for a stock that could turn my trusty Remington 700 into a true extension of my body.

My first impression upon unboxing was one of immediate satisfaction. The H-S Precision stock felt solid and substantial in my hands, projecting a feeling of high-quality construction. The materials felt premium, and the finish was flawless, indicating meticulous attention to detail during manufacturing.

I considered other options like the Magpul Hunter 700 and the Bell and Carlson Medalist, both respected names in the aftermarket stock arena. However, the H-S Precision won me over with its combination of adjustability, full-length bedding block, and the promise of a truly customized fit. The adjustable cheek piece and length of pull were key selling points, something the others didn’t provide in such a complete package.

My initial reaction was excitement, bordering on anticipation. I immediately envisioned the possibilities: tighter groupings at the range, more comfortable hunting sessions, and an overall enhanced shooting experience. This wasn’t just a stock; it felt like an investment in my shooting future.

First Use Experience

My first experience with the H-S Precision H-S Pro-Series PST007 Remington 700 BDL Short Action Right Hand was at my local shooting range, a familiar environment where I could assess its performance under controlled conditions. I focused primarily on zeroing the rifle with the new stock and evaluating its ergonomics and stability. The range was relatively quiet, providing an optimal setting for critical assessment.

The stock performed exceptionally well even in the initial trial. Adjusting the length of pull and cheek piece allowed me to achieve a perfect cheek weld, resulting in a significant improvement in my sight picture. There was a noticeable reduction in felt recoil, contributing to greater shooting comfort.

The only minor issue I encountered was a slight learning curve in fine-tuning the adjustments to achieve my ideal fit. After a few adjustments I was on target with no other issues. This was quickly overcome with some patience and attention to detail.

After several months of regular use in various conditions, the H-S Precision stock has proven its worth time and again. I have used it during several hog hunts in the Texas heat and humidity. It has also endured a few rainy days at the range with no degradation in performance or comfort.

A periodic wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually all that’s needed to keep it looking and performing its best.

Compared to my previous experiences with factory stocks, the H-S Precision is in a different league altogether. The improved ergonomics, enhanced stability, and customizable fit have transformed my Remington 700 into a more accurate and enjoyable platform. It has significantly improved my confidence in my shooting ability.
