First Impressions of Anarchy Outdoors Glock Gun Cleaning Mat
The Anarchy Outdoors Glock Gun Cleaning Mat promises a dedicated space for Glock maintenance, combining protection with educational diagrams. The Anarchy Outdoors mat aims to streamline cleaning and repairs, making it appealing to both novice and experienced Glock owners. I was intrigued by the promise of a clean workspace coupled with an exploded view of Glock components.
I was looking for a solution to protect my workbench while cleaning my Glocks. I also wanted a visual aid to help with disassembly and reassembly. My previous method involved using old towels, which never truly protected the surface and offered no organizational or educational benefits.
Upon unboxing, the mat felt soft and pliable, confirming the polyester top. The neoprene rubber backing felt grippy and confidence-inspiring. The print quality of the exploded Glock diagram seemed crisp and clear. Compared to generic gun cleaning mats, the dedicated Glock diagram was a significant advantage. I also considered the Real Avid Master Gun Vise but decided against it due to its larger size and higher price point. Another alternative was a simple rubber mat, but it lacked the educational component I desired.
I was cautiously optimistic. The initial quality seemed good, but I wanted to see how it would perform during actual cleaning and maintenance. The promise of easy cleanup and detailed diagrams fueled my excitement.
Real-World Testing: Putting Anarchy Outdoors Glock Gun Cleaning Mat to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Anarchy Outdoors Glock Gun Cleaning Mat during a post-range cleaning session. I used it on my workbench after a day of shooting approximately 300 rounds through my Glock 19. The mat immediately provided a dedicated, protected space.
During cleaning, various solvents and lubricants spilled onto the mat. The polyester top effectively contained the spills, preventing them from reaching the workbench. Disassembly was significantly easier with the exploded view diagram readily available. I encountered no issues during the initial cleaning.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Anarchy Outdoors Glock Gun Cleaning Mat has proven to be a valuable addition to my cleaning routine. It has withstood numerous cleaning sessions and shows minimal signs of wear and tear. The diagram remains clear and legible.
The mat still effectively protects my workbench from spills and scratches. Cleaning the mat is straightforward: a gentle cycle in the washing machine followed by air drying restores it to nearly new condition. Compared to my previous towel method, the Anarchy Outdoors mat offers superior protection, organization, and convenience.
