The Springfield Marine 1300715-HL1 Plug In Non Locking Removable Pedestal Hi Lo 3 Piece Package offers a simple, yet versatile seating solution for smaller fishing boats and pontoons. It provides adjustable height and easy removal for storage or rearranging your deck, a feature crucial for maximizing space on the water. This package includes a fixed-height pedestal, a swivel seat mount, and a base, making it a convenient all-in-one solution for anglers.
My old boat seating was fixed and uncomfortable, making long fishing days a literal pain. I needed a more flexible seating arrangement to improve comfort and allow for better movement around the boat. The Springfield Marine package seemed like a cost-effective way to upgrade my existing setup.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed by the solid construction of the components. The pedestal felt sturdy, and the swivel mechanism on the seat mount moved smoothly. The materials appeared to be of good quality, suggesting that they could withstand the harsh marine environment.
I considered other options like individual pedestal components from various brands, or even investing in full replacement seats. However, the integrated nature and price point of the Springfield Marine 1300715-HL1 Plug In Non Locking Removable Pedestal Hi Lo 3 Piece Package made it the most attractive option. It promised a quick and easy upgrade without breaking the bank.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The components seemed well-made, but I was eager to see how they would perform under real-world conditions on the water. I hoped this package would be the key to more enjoyable and productive fishing trips.
Real-World Testing: Putting Springfield Marine 1300715-HL1 Plug In Non Locking Removable Pedestal Hi Lo 3 Piece Package to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place on a local lake during a weekend fishing trip. The weather was mild, but there was a slight chop on the water, offering a decent test of the pedestal’s stability. Installing the base was straightforward, and the pedestal and seat mount locked securely into place.
The fixed height of the pedestal proved comfortable for both sitting and standing while fishing. The swivel function allowed me to easily rotate and cast in different directions without awkwardly shifting my entire body. There were no immediate issues, and the seat felt stable throughout the day.
The only slight issue was that the pedestal felt a bit wobbly when I leaned too far to one side. This wasn’t a major concern, but something I noted for future, rougher water tests. Overall, the initial experience was positive, enhancing my fishing experience.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Springfield Marine pedestal package has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear, despite being exposed to sun, rain, and the occasional splash of saltwater. The swivel mechanism still operates smoothly.
The finish on the pedestal and base has remained intact, showing no signs of rust or corrosion. Cleaning is easy; a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is all it takes to remove dirt and grime. Its simple design is a plus for the boat owner wanting easy maintenance.
Compared to my previous fixed seating, the Springfield Marine 1300715-HL1 Plug In Non Locking Removable Pedestal Hi Lo 3 Piece Package offers a significant improvement in comfort and flexibility. The ability to easily remove the seat for storage or repositioning is a huge advantage, especially when hauling gear or cleaning the boat. I’m very satisfied with its long-term performance and durability.
