Let’s Dive into Prest-O-Fit Ruggids Universal RV Steps – Charcoal
The Prest-O-Fit Ruggids Universal RV Steps – Charcoal offer a simple solution to a common RV problem: slippery and dirty steps. These step rugs promise better grip, dirt trapping, and easy cleaning, making them a potential game-changer for RV enthusiasts. I was intrigued by the claim of a universal fit and the promise of keeping my RV cleaner.
My old RV steps were a constant source of frustration. They were slick when wet, and tracked dirt and debris into the RV. I needed something that would improve safety and reduce the amount of sweeping I had to do.
Unboxing the Prest-O-Fit rugs, I immediately noticed the robust feel of the material. The charcoal color was neutral and should blend well with most RV exteriors. They felt durable, and the deep treads looked like they would effectively trap dirt.
I considered a few other options, including stick-on grip tape and replacing the entire step assembly. However, grip tape can be abrasive and wears out quickly. A complete step replacement was more expensive and complex than I wanted to tackle. The Prest-O-Fit rugs seemed like the perfect balance of affordability and functionality.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The material felt high-quality, and the design seemed well-thought-out. I was excited to see if they would live up to the claims of improved grip and dirt trapping.
Real-World Testing: Putting Prest-O-Fit Ruggids Universal RV Steps – Charcoal to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Prest-O-Fit Ruggids Universal RV Steps – Charcoal on a weekend camping trip to a dusty state park. The steps leading into my RV are exposed to the elements, so they quickly accumulate dirt and grime. Installation was straightforward using the included springs and hook-and-loop fasteners.
The steps performed admirably, even after a light rain shower. The deep treads provided excellent grip, preventing any slips or stumbles. The rugs effectively trapped dirt and sand, significantly reducing the amount tracked into the RV.
The initial experience was positive. The rugs were easy to install, provided improved grip, and kept the RV cleaner. There were no immediate issues.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the Prest-O-Fit rugs have held up remarkably well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear, even with regular foot traffic. The charcoal color has remained consistent, showing no noticeable fading from sun exposure.
Cleaning the rugs is simple. A quick hose down removes most dirt and debris. For tougher stains, a mild soap and brush do the trick.
