Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount Review

Let’s Dive into Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount

The Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount is designed to provide a secure and accessible way to carry two pistol magazines on any MOLLE-compatible platform. Wilder Tactical designed this pouch with versatility in mind, catering to a wide range of magazine sizes and calibers. I was particularly interested in its potential to streamline my loadout and improve my response time during training scenarios.

For years, I’ve struggled with finding a reliable and versatile magazine pouch solution. My current setup involves a patchwork of different pouches, each designed for specific magazine types, resulting in a cluttered and inefficient system. The promise of a universal design that could accommodate various pistol magazines was incredibly appealing.

The pouch arrived in a simple, no-frills package. My initial impression was positive; the Super Tough Nylon felt robust and well-stitched, suggesting a durable product. The overall construction seemed solid, with no obvious weak points or loose threads.

I considered several other double pistol magazine pouches before settling on the Wilder Tactical offering. Some were cheaper, but lacked the universal compatibility, while others were more expensive and didn’t seem to offer a significant advantage in terms of durability or design. Ultimately, the Wilder Tactical pouch seemed to strike the best balance between price, versatility, and quality.

My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The pouch seemed well-made, but the real test would be how it performed in the field under demanding conditions. I was eager to see if it could truly live up to its universal claim and provide a reliable and accessible platform for my pistol magazines.

Real-World Testing: Putting Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount at my local shooting range during a pistol training session. I mounted it on my plate carrier, alongside my primary rifle magazine pouches. The range provided a controlled environment, allowing me to focus on evaluating the pouch’s performance.

The conditions were dry and sunny, typical for a Southern California afternoon. I ran several drills, practicing reloads and magazine changes under time pressure. The pouch performed admirably, holding the magazines securely without impeding my draw stroke.

The pouch was surprisingly easy to use, even with different types of magazines. The adjustable compression strap provided a snug fit for both single and double-stack magazines, preventing them from rattling or shifting during movement. I did need to adjust the lacing slightly to accommodate the different magazine sizes, but this was a quick and straightforward process.

The only minor issue I encountered was that the MOLLE straps were a bit stiff initially, making it slightly difficult to weave them through the webbing on my plate carrier. However, this became easier with repeated use. Overall, the first-time use was a positive experience, and I was impressed with the pouch’s versatility and performance.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of regular use, the Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount has held up remarkably well. It’s become a staple in my range gear, and I’ve even incorporated it into my everyday carry setup. The pouch has proven to be exceptionally durable, showing no signs of wear and tear despite being subjected to rough handling and constant use.

The Super Tough Nylon construction has proven to be highly resistant to abrasion and tearing. Even after being exposed to dirt, dust, and sweat, the pouch still looks and functions like new. The stitching remains intact, and the compression straps continue to provide a secure and reliable hold.

Maintaining the pouch is incredibly simple. I simply wipe it down with a damp cloth after each use to remove any dirt or grime. Occasionally, I’ll use a mild detergent to clean it more thoroughly. The pouch dries quickly and doesn’t seem to be affected by repeated cleaning.

In comparison to other magazine pouches I’ve used in the past, the Wilder Tactical Evolution Universal Double Pistol Magazine Pouch MOLLE Mount is a clear winner. Its universal design, durability, and ease of use make it a superior option for anyone who needs to carry multiple pistol magazines. It has exceeded my expectations and has become an essential part of my gear.
