Black Scorpion Outdoor Gear Canik OWB Kydex Paddle Holster Review

Let’s Talk About Black Scorpion Outdoor Gear Canik OWB Kydex Paddle Holster

The Black Scorpion Outdoor Gear Canik OWB Kydex Paddle Holster promises a secure and accessible carry solution for Canik pistol owners. It boasts red dot compatibility, adjustable cant, and a paddle design for easy on-off use. This holster caught my attention as I sought a reliable and comfortable outside-the-waistband (OWB) option for my Canik TP9SFx during range days and training sessions.

My current holster was a generic nylon one, and it simply wasn’t cutting it. The retention was poor, drawing felt sluggish, and the overall feel was far from confidence-inspiring. I needed something molded specifically for my Canik, providing both secure retention and a quick, clean draw.

Upon receiving the Black Scorpion Outdoor Gear Canik OWB Kydex Paddle Holster, I immediately noticed its solid construction and clean lines. The Kydex felt thick and rigid, and the paddle seemed robust enough to withstand daily use. Its lightweight design was a welcome change compared to some bulky alternatives.

I considered several other holsters, including options from Safariland and Vedder. However, the Black Scorpion holster’s competitive price point and compatibility with red dot optics ultimately swayed me. The promise of adjustable cant also appealed to my desire for a customized draw angle.

My first impression was overwhelmingly positive. The holster felt well-made, and the paddle mechanism seemed secure. I was eager to see how it performed during live-fire exercises.
