Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight Review

Let’s Talk About Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight

The Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight from Nightstick is a compact yet powerful lighting solution designed for tactical applications and everyday carry. Boasting a 900-lumen output, USB rechargeability, and durable construction, this flashlight aims to deliver reliable performance in demanding situations. I was intrigued by its versatility and the promise of a long-lasting, rechargeable power source, which is why I decided to give it a try.

I needed a flashlight that could handle the rigors of outdoor adventures while remaining compact enough for convenient carry. I’d grown tired of constantly replacing batteries in my old flashlight, so the USB rechargeability of the Nightstick model was a major selling point. The initial unboxing revealed a sturdy flashlight with a solid feel, the aircraft-grade aluminum lending it a premium touch.

Compared to my older SureFire G2X Pro and a Fenix PD35, the Nightstick offered a similar lumen output but with the added benefit of USB charging. While the SureFire is known for its ruggedness and the Fenix for its versatile modes, the Nightstick’s charging convenience and competitive price point swayed my decision. My first impression was one of cautious optimism, hoping that the performance would match the promising specifications.

Real-World Testing: Putting Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight to the Test

First Use Experience

I primarily tested the Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight during a recent camping trip and at the shooting range. It faced diverse conditions, from navigating dark trails to illuminating targets in low-light scenarios. The flashlight performed admirably in the damp forest, its IP-X7 waterproof rating providing peace of mind.

The single tail switch allowed for easy cycling through the high, medium, and low modes, and the optional strobe was readily accessible with a double press. I didn’t need much time to adapt to its operation; the intuitive tail switch made it user-friendly from the start. The high output heated the flashlight body slightly after prolonged use, but otherwise, the first use was largely positive.

After several weeks of consistent use, the Nightstick USB Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight has proven to be a reliable companion. The Type III anodized finish shows minimal signs of wear and tear, despite being subjected to scrapes and bumps. Cleaning is simple; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient.

Compared to my older flashlights, the Nightstick offers a more convenient charging experience and comparable performance. The rechargeable battery holds its charge well, and the option to use CR123 batteries as a backup provides added flexibility. Overall, the extended use has solidified my initial positive impression.
