Let’s Dive into BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR44STEALTH-BK Stealth Ultra Rifle Black 44″ X 15″
The BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR44STEALTH-BK Stealth Ultra Rifle Black 44″ X 15″ is a cleaning and maintenance mat designed to protect your firearms and work surfaces. Manufactured by TekMat, this particular model boasts a sleek, minimalist design with a thermoplastic polyurethane surface. The mat measures 44″ x 15″, providing ample space for disassembling and cleaning even full-sized rifles, all while maintaining a low profile.
For years, I’ve relied on old towels and makeshift setups to clean my firearms, which often resulted in scratches on both my guns and my workbench. I needed a dedicated, protective surface that was easy to clean and store. I hoped to find something that would last.
Upon unboxing, I was immediately struck by the smooth, “leather-like” feel of the mat. It felt durable and well-made, far superior to the flimsy rubber mats I’d seen before. The black color gives it a professional, understated look.
Compared to a basic Hoppe’s gun cleaning mat and a more expensive, branded mat with a parts diagram, the TekMat stands out for its sleek design and easy-to-clean surface. I chose this one for its combination of size, material, and minimalist aesthetic. I was hoping to test how the thermoplastic polyurethane surface would hold up to solvents and oils.
I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and feel of the mat. It definitely felt like an upgrade from my previous haphazard cleaning solutions. The size was perfect.
Real-World Testing: Putting BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR44STEALTH-BK Stealth Ultra Rifle Black 44″ X 15″ to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test run involved cleaning my AR-15 after a dusty day at the range. I set the TekMat up on my workbench and began disassembling the rifle. The mat provided ample space for all the components.
The thermoplastic polyurethane surface proved to be excellent at repelling oil and solvents. Any spills were easily wiped away with a cloth. There was no absorption of the cleaning fluids.
The mat was incredibly easy to use right out of the box. There’s no learning curve; just unroll it and start cleaning. The 44″ x 15″ size was more than adequate to keep all parts safely on the surface.
Initially, there were no issues or surprises. The mat performed exactly as advertised, providing a clean and protective surface. The grip on the bottom prevented any slipping on the table.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the TekMat has held up remarkably well. I clean my firearms at least twice a month. The mat shows no signs of wear and tear.
The TekMat remains durable, with no rips, tears, or staining from cleaning solvents. The material has maintained its integrity even with frequent exposure to harsh chemicals. The sleek black color makes it easy to spot any residue after cleaning.
Maintenance is incredibly simple. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually all it takes to keep the mat clean. This makes it very easy to keep the workbench clean, and ready for use at any time.
Compared to previous cleaning mats I’ve used, the TekMat significantly outperforms them in terms of durability and ease of cleaning. My homemade solutions weren’t even in the same league. It has exceeded my expectations.
