The BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR20GLOCK4243 Glock 42/43 Ultra Premium Cleaning Mat Pa promises to be more than just a surface protector; it’s a dedicated workspace designed for the intricacies of maintaining your Glock 42 or 43. TekMat, a name synonymous with firearm cleaning mats, aims to provide a superior experience with its Ultra Premium line, offering increased space, thicker padding, and a stitched edge. As someone who values both firearm performance and its proper care, I was eager to test if this mat lived up to its claims, providing a safe and organized environment for cleaning and maintenance.
For years, I’ve relied on makeshift cleaning areas, often resorting to old towels and cluttered tabletops. The need for a dedicated, protective, and organized space became apparent after a minor mishap involving a dropped pin and a scratched kitchen counter. I wanted something specifically designed for my Glock 43, offering both protection and clear diagrams to guide my cleaning and maintenance routines.
Upon unboxing the BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR20GLOCK4243 Glock 42/43 Ultra Premium Cleaning Mat Pa, I was immediately impressed by the size and thickness of the mat. The extra padding and stitched edges gave it a premium feel compared to thinner, unstitched alternatives I’ve used in the past. The printed diagram of the Glock 42/43 was clear and detailed, hinting at the mat’s functionality beyond mere surface protection.
I considered other universal cleaning mats but opted for this TekMat due to its tailored design for the Glock 42/43. While universal mats offer broader compatibility, I preferred the precision and dedicated space offered by a model-specific mat. Plus, the Ultra Premium designation suggested a higher level of quality compared to standard TekMat offerings.
My initial impression was one of excitement and anticipation. This TekMat seemed to address all my needs for a dedicated and protective cleaning space. The quality of the materials and the clear diagram instilled confidence that this mat would make firearm maintenance not only easier but also more enjoyable.

First Use Experience
My first test involved a thorough cleaning of my Glock 43 after a day at an outdoor shooting range. The range was particularly dusty, and the Glock had accumulated a significant amount of carbon and grit. I laid the BECK TEK, LLC (TEKMAT) TEKR20GLOCK4243 Glock 42/43 Ultra Premium Cleaning Mat Pa on my workbench and began the disassembly process.
The ample space allowed me to comfortably lay out all the components of the Glock 43 without feeling cramped. The mat’s surface provided excellent grip, preventing small parts from rolling around. The detailed diagram proved invaluable, especially when reassembling the trigger mechanism, ensuring I didn’t miss any steps.
The mat performed admirably, even with the liberal use of cleaning solvents. The oil and water-resistant surface repelled the chemicals, preventing them from soaking through to my workbench. After cleaning, the mat itself was easily wiped down, leaving no residue.
There were no significant issues encountered during the first use, only a newfound appreciation for a properly organized cleaning space. The TekMat made the cleaning process smoother, faster, and more enjoyable.
Extended Use & Reliability

Maintaining the TekMat is incredibly simple. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth after each use is all that’s required to keep it clean and free of residue. Unlike my previous makeshift solutions, the TekMat doesn’t absorb oils or solvents, preventing unpleasant odors from lingering.
