Let’s Talk About EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target
The EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target from EZ-Aim offers a simple, effective, and affordable solution for sighting in rifles and pistols. This 12×12 inch paper target features five aiming points overlaid on a one-inch grid pattern, making it an excellent choice for both seasoned marksmen and those just starting out. Its designed with high visibility in mind, which drastically reduces eyestrain.
My need for the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target arose from frustration with inconsistent groupings when sighting in a new scope on my hunting rifle. The previous targets I was using lacked a clear grid for easy adjustments, leading to wasted ammunition and a lot of frustration. I was specifically looking for a target that would allow for precise and repeatable adjustments.
Upon unboxing, the immediate impression was of simplicity and functionality. The paper felt reasonably sturdy, and the two-color print (bright orange aiming points on a black grid) was clean and easy to read. The EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target‘s bound design makes it extremely easy to flip through, and makes storage incredibly convenient.
Compared to other targets I’ve used, like the Birchwood Casey Sight-In Target or the Champion VisiColor targets, the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target stood out for its combination of simplicity and a useful grid pattern. While the VisiColor targets offer excellent shot visibility, their lack of a grid makes precise adjustments more challenging. Ultimately, the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target‘s clarity and practical design won me over.
My initial excitement stemmed from the potential to streamline the sighting-in process. I was hoping for a target that would save me time and ammunition at the range, ultimately making my rifle more accurate for the upcoming hunting season.
Real-World Testing: Putting EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target to the Test
First Use Experience
My first experience with the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target was at my local outdoor shooting range. I tested the target with both my .223 AR-15 and my .30-06 hunting rifle at distances of 50 and 100 yards, respectively. The weather was mild and sunny, providing ideal conditions for visibility.
The performance was immediately impressive. The bright orange aiming points were easily visible even at 100 yards with the naked eye, and the one-inch grid made adjusting my scope incredibly simple. I found that after just a few shots, I was able to dial in my scope with significantly greater precision than with my previous targets.
The ease of use was a major highlight. The EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target required no setup beyond simply attaching it to a target stand. I did not experience any issues, and the target performed exactly as expected.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of using the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target during regular range sessions, I can confidently say that it holds up remarkably well. The paper remains sturdy, even after being subjected to numerous bullet holes. There has been no signs of tearing or damage.
The targets themselves show minimal signs of wear and tear. Even with frequent use, the aiming points and grid lines remain clear and easily visible. This is an exceptional benefit when compared to other paper targets, which can quickly become obscured.
Maintaining the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target is virtually nonexistent. Being a paper target, there is no need for cleaning or any specific maintenance procedures. Simply replace the target when it becomes too damaged to use effectively.
Compared to my previous experiences with other targets, the EZ-Aim Sight Grid Paper Shooting Target outperforms them in terms of ease of use, visibility, and overall accuracy. I’ve significantly reduced the amount of time and ammunition required to sight in my firearms.
