Agency Arms Hybrid Special Stripped Precut Glock 17 Pistol Slide Review

Let’s Talk About Agency Arms Hybrid Special Stripped Precut Glock 17 Pistol Slide

The Agency Arms Hybrid Special Stripped Precut Glock 17 Pistol Slide is more than just an upgrade; it’s a statement. Crafted by Agency Arms, this slide promises enhanced performance and a distinctive aesthetic for your Glock 17. Let’s delve into what makes this slide a premium choice for discerning shooters.

My search for a new slide started with a desire for improved optics mounting and enhanced grip while manipulating the slide. I needed a slide that was both functional and visually appealing, capable of handling demanding shooting scenarios. The promise of the Agency Optic System (AOS) and aggressive serrations immediately caught my attention.

Upon unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the slide’s aggressive yet refined design. The Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) finish gave it a sleek, durable look. The weight felt balanced, suggesting a high-quality build using robust materials.

Compared to the ZEV Technologies Citadel Slide and the Brownells RMR Cut Slide, the Agency Arms slide stood out with its unique Hybrid design and the included ISMI recoil spring assembly. I chose the Agency Arms slide for its holistic approach to performance enhancement. The integration of the AOS and the recoil spring assembly promised a significant improvement over the factory slide.

My initial impression was one of excitement. The quality of the finish and the precision of the cuts suggested this was a worthwhile investment. I was eager to see how it performed on the range.

Real-World Testing: Putting Agency Arms Hybrid Special Stripped Precut Glock 17 Pistol Slide to the Test

First Use Experience

My first range trip with the Agency Arms Hybrid Special Stripped Precut Glock 17 Pistol Slide was at my local outdoor range. The weather was slightly damp, presenting a good opportunity to test the grip in less-than-ideal conditions. I wanted to assess the slide’s performance with my Trijicon RMR.

The enhanced serrations made racking the slide effortless, even with wet hands. The top window allowed for quicker cooling, preventing heat buildup during rapid firing. No issues arose during the first use; everything functioned flawlessly.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the Agency Arms slide continues to impress. I estimate having put over 2,000 rounds through it.

The DLC finish shows minimal signs of wear, even after being subjected to holster use and various weather conditions. Cleaning is simple, requiring only a quick wipe-down after each range session. It outperforms my previous setup by a significant margin.
