Let’s Talk About Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release
For over 50 years, Safariland has been the gold standard in law enforcement and military holsters. Their name is synonymous with quality, durability, and innovation. The Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release continues that tradition, offering a secure, fast, and adaptable platform for carrying a duty weapon equipped with a red dot sight.
I was searching for a holster system that could accommodate my Glock 19 with a Trijicon RMR and a weapon-mounted light. Existing holsters felt bulky, slow, or didn’t offer the necessary level of retention for tactical situations. I needed something that could keep my pistol secure during dynamic movements, while still allowing for a rapid draw when required.
Out of the box, the Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release exudes quality. The materials feel robust, the stitching is impeccable, and the overall design is clearly well-thought-out. The holster felt surprisingly light considering its substantial construction and the inclusion of the Automatic Locking System (ALS).
Compared to other thigh holsters I’ve used, like those from Blackhawk and Condor, the Safariland felt significantly more stable and secure. It didn’t shift or wobble as much during movement. I chose this model specifically for the ALS retention system and the single-strap design.
My first impression was one of excitement mixed with cautious optimism. I was eager to test its performance under pressure, but also aware that even the best gear can have unforeseen drawbacks.
Real-World Testing: Putting Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at a local shooting range, where I focused on drawing and re-holstering drills. I specifically wanted to assess the speed and efficiency of the ALS system. I also used it during some force-on-force training exercises with simunition pistols.
The Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release performed admirably in both dry and live-fire scenarios. The ALS system provided a secure hold on the pistol, preventing accidental dislodgement during aggressive movements. The draw stroke became instinctive after only a short period of practice.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the Safariland Model 6355rds-sp10 Als Single Strap Tactical Holster With Quick-release continues to impress. It has seen action in multiple training courses, force-on-force scenarios, and even a few outdoor events. The holster has held up well, showing minimal signs of wear and tear.
The Safariland Safarisuede lining has protected the finish on both my Glock 19 and the Trijicon RMR. Cleaning the holster is simple; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. It outperforms any other holster I have used in terms of retention, draw speed, and overall durability.
