I’ve been a 10mm Auto enthusiast for years, primarily using it for personal defense while hiking in bear country. However, I wanted a cartridge specifically tailored for handgun hunting, something that offered both accuracy and reliable expansion at ethical hunting ranges. I was looking for something that could confidently take down deer, hogs, or even coyotes without fail.
Upon unboxing the Barnes Vor-Tx 10mm Auto 155gr XPB Handgun Hunting Cartridges, I was immediately impressed by the clean, consistent appearance of each round. The brass casings looked polished and well-made, and the XPB hollow point bullets were uniform in shape and seating depth. The overall feel was one of quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Compared to other hunting rounds I’ve used, such as the Hornady XTP or the Underwood Ammo offerings, the Barnes Vor-Tx stood out due to its solid copper, lead-free construction and reputation for consistent expansion. While the other rounds are good, I liked the idea of a monolithic projectile that expands reliably. This factor pushed me towards giving the Barnes Vor-Tx a try.
