Let’s Talk About TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick
As an archery enthusiast with over a decade in the tactical gear industry, I’ve seen releases come and go. The TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick, manufactured by TRU Ball, definitely caught my eye with its unique Lever Alignment System and enclosed index finger hole. I’ve been seeking a release that offers both precision and customization, hoping to find the perfect synergy between the archer and the bow.
My quest for a new release stemmed from a nagging inconsistency in my shot form. I’d always struggled to find a release that truly felt like an extension of my hand. The promise of adjusting the pivot point through the Lever Alignment System on the FulKrum Flex Release Quick seemed like the answer to my problems.
Upon unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the solid brass construction. The weight felt substantial and promised durability. The enclosed index finger hole felt natural, offering a secure grip. My initial thoughts were positive – the build quality seemed excellent and the design innovative.
Compared to my previous releases, a Scott Archery Little Goose and a Carter Enterprises Insatiable 3, the TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick offered a different approach to customization. While the Scott focused on simplicity and reliability, and the Carter on trigger adjustability, the FulKrum’s Lever Alignment System presented a novel way to fine-tune my shot. I ultimately chose the FulKrum Flex Release Quick because I wanted to experiment with its unique pivot point adjustment.
My first impression was excitement tempered with a bit of apprehension. I was eager to see if the FulKrum Flex Release Quick could truly improve my shot consistency, but also worried about the learning curve associated with a hinge-style release.
Real-World Testing: Putting TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test took place at my local archery range. I wanted a controlled environment to experiment with the release’s various settings. The initial setup involved adjusting the thumb peg and familiarizing myself with the Lever Alignment System.
The TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick performed admirably even in less-than-ideal conditions. A light drizzle started midway through my session, yet the brass construction provided a confident grip. It took some time to dial in the Lever Alignment System to my liking. This adjustment period required patience and careful observation of my shot execution.
Using a hinge release was new to me, coming from a trigger-based background. There was a noticeable learning curve. However, the enclosed index finger hole gave me a sense of security that helped me overcome initial anxieties. After about an hour, I started to feel more comfortable, but some tweaking was still needed.
The most surprising aspect was how sensitive the Lever Alignment System was. Even minor adjustments significantly impacted my point of impact.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the TRU Ball FulKrum Flex Release Quick has become a staple in my archery setup. It has held up exceptionally well. There are no signs of wear and tear on the brass body.
The finish has remained pristine, even after numerous sessions in various weather conditions. Maintaining the release is relatively simple. I apply a small amount of lubricant to the moving parts every few weeks. This ensures smooth operation.
Compared to my previous releases, the FulKrum Flex Release Quick offers a significant improvement in shot consistency. Once I found the optimal Lever Alignment setting, my groups tightened noticeably. It outperforms my previous releases in terms of customization and precision.
