Several holsters promised these features, but Safariland’s reputation for quality and security piqued my interest.

Real-World Testing: Putting Safariland 6287 Concealment SLS Belt Holster – Plain Black, Left Hand 6287-96-62 to the Test
First Use Experience
My first foray with the Safariland 6287 was at my local shooting range, a controlled environment perfect for familiarizing myself with the draw stroke and retention system. I primarily tested it during drills that required quick draws and re-holstering under simulated stress. The weather was mild, but the range environment is always dusty.
The holster performed admirably, even with the fine grit of the shooting range clinging to everything. The SLS hood released smoothly with minimal effort, allowing for a natural and consistent draw stroke. No significant adjustment period was needed, as the design closely mirrored the operation of my duty Safariland holsters. I was surprised by how naturally the holster conformed to my body, aiding in concealment without sacrificing comfort.
There were no significant issues or surprises during the initial range session. The Safariland 6287 performed exactly as advertised, which provided a sense of immediate confidence.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Safariland 6287 has proven to be a reliable companion in my everyday carry setup. The holster shows minimal signs of wear and tear, even with daily exposure to the elements and constant movement. The finish has held up remarkably well, resisting scratches and scuffs.
Maintenance is a breeze; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove any accumulated dirt or debris. Compared to previous concealment holsters, the Safariland 6287 excels in durability and retention. The SLS system continues to operate smoothly and securely. It consistently outperforms other concealment options I’ve tried in terms of both weapon security and ease of access.
