I was looking for a reliable and cost-effective option for practicing my wingshooting skills. Finding ammunition that patterns well in my shotgun without breaking the bank has always been a challenge. This ammunition seemed to strike the right balance between quality and affordability.
Upon unboxing, the shells appeared well-constructed and clean. The brass-based hulls gave them a more premium feel than other promotional-grade ammunition I’ve used. The hulls felt sturdy and ready for action.
Compared to similar promotional loads from Winchester and Remington, the Fiocchi stood out due to its brass-based hull and reputation for cleaner burning powder. I was hoping for better feeding and extraction compared to steel-based alternatives. I chose the Fiocchi expecting fewer malfunctions and a cleaner shooting experience.
My first impression was positive. The shells looked and felt like a higher-quality product than the price suggested, and I was eager to see how they performed on the range. The 46% Off discount made the purchase even more attractive.

First Use Experience
I tested the Fiocchi Dove/Quail ammunition at my local shooting range, simulating dove hunting scenarios with clay targets. I ran them through my trusty Benelli Montefeltro, known for its reliability and responsiveness. The weather was mild and dry, ideal conditions for testing.
The Fiocchi shells cycled smoothly through my Benelli. The recoil was manageable, and the report wasn’t overly loud. The clay targets broke consistently at various distances, indicating good patterns.
Using the shells was straightforward; I loaded them into the magazine tube without any issues. The hulls fed reliably, and the ejection was clean and consistent. I did not experience any jams or failures to extract.
After the first round of testing, I was impressed. The Fiocchi ammunition performed flawlessly. I was pleasantly surprised by the consistent patterns and smooth cycling.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, the Fiocchi Dove/Quail ammunition has proven to be remarkably consistent. I have used over 200 rounds, and they have continued to function without a single hiccup. This is significantly better than some cheaper brands I’ve tried in the past.
I haven’t noticed any significant signs of wear or tear on my shotgun from using this ammunition. The brass-based hulls appear to be holding up well. There is minimal residue left in the barrel after shooting.
Cleaning is easy. A quick wipe-down with a bore snake after each session keeps the barrel clean and free of debris. The clean-burning powder advertised by Fiocchi seems to live up to its promise.
Compared to my previous experiences with budget shotgun ammunition, the Fiocchi Dove/Quail is a clear winner. It offers a higher level of reliability and consistency than I expected. The performance rivals that of more expensive target loads.
