The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ Brass Case Pistol Ammunition
Up to $43.00 Off promises a cost-effective solution for high-volume shooters. Manufactured by Fiocchi, this ammunition is designed for reliable performance on the range, featuring a 95-grain full metal jacket bullet and brass casing. It’s marketed towards those seeking an affordable option that doesn’t compromise on quality.
I was looking for a budget-friendly option for practicing with my .380 ACP pistol. Range time can get expensive quickly, and I hoped the Fiocchi offering could help me save some money without sacrificing reliability.
Upon receiving the ammunition, I immediately noticed the clean brass casings and consistent bullet seating. The packaging was standard, but the rounds themselves appeared well-made, giving me a sense of confidence in their quality.
Compared to other budget .380 ACP ammunition like Winchester White Box or Remington UMC, the Fiocchi Range Dynamics seemed comparable in appearance. I chose it specifically for its reputation for consistent performance, and the promise of Fiocchi’s quality control. My initial excitement was tempered by the mixed user feedback, but I remained hopeful for good performance.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ Brass Case Pistol Ammunition
Up to $43.00 Off** to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP at my local indoor shooting range. I primarily used it with my Glock 42, a pistol known for its reliability, and a newly acquired Ruger Security-380. The range offered a controlled environment, allowing me to focus on the ammunition’s performance.
The initial results were concerning, especially with the Ruger. I experienced multiple failures to feed with the Ruger Security-380 within the first few magazines. My Glock 42, on the other hand, seemed to cycle the rounds with slightly better reliability, though there were still occasional hiccups.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several range sessions, the Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP continued to exhibit inconsistent performance. The Glock 42 experienced a few failures, but the Ruger Security-380 had consistent failures. This made me question its reliability for self-defense purposes.
I noticed some slight discoloration on the brass casings after firing, but no significant wear and tear on the ammunition itself. Cleaning my firearms after using the Fiocchi ammunition was straightforward. It was no different than cleaning after using other brass-cased ammunition.
Compared to my usual go-to, Federal American Eagle, the Fiocchi Range Dynamics sadly underperformed. The Federal ammunition cycled flawlessly through both pistols, reinforcing the value of reliability, even at a higher price point.

Specifications
The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ Brass Case Pistol Ammunition features a .380 ACP caliber, making it suitable for a wide range of compact pistols. Its 95-grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) bullet is designed for smooth feeding and consistent penetration. The brass cartridge case material allows for reloading, offering an economical advantage for some shooters.
It has a muzzle velocity of 960 ft/s, providing adequate energy for target practice and self-defense scenarios. The ammunition uses a centerfire primer style for reliable ignition. It is not lead-free, a factor to consider for indoor ranges with specific regulations. These specifications are fairly standard for .380 ACP ammunition, making it compatible with most .380 pistols.
Performance & Functionality
The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP delivers adequate accuracy for target practice within reasonable distances. However, the reliability issues experienced with some firearms significantly detract from its overall performance. While some pistols may cycle it without problems, others may experience frequent jams and failures to feed.
Its strength lies in its affordability, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious shooters. But the inconsistent performance is a significant weakness. It simply doesn’t instill confidence for anything other than casual target practice.
Design & Ergonomics
The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP features a standard design. Its FMJ bullet and brass casing are common in most pistol ammunition. The build quality seems reasonable, but the inconsistencies in performance suggest potential issues with powder charge or bullet seating.
There is no learning curve associated with using this ammunition; it’s loaded into magazines and fired like any other .380 ACP round. However, anticipating potential malfunctions can detract from the overall shooting experience.
Durability & Maintenance
The brass casings of the Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP should last for multiple reloads if properly cared for. The bullets themselves are relatively durable, holding their shape during feeding and firing.
Maintenance is minimal, requiring only standard firearm cleaning procedures after use. The brass casings are easy to clean and inspect for any signs of damage.
Accessories and Customization Options
The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP itself does not offer any specific accessories or customization options. However, its performance can be influenced by the firearm it’s used in.
Upgrading the recoil spring or magazine in your pistol might improve cycling reliability with this ammunition. It’s compatible with standard .380 ACP magazines and aftermarket accessories designed for specific pistol models.

Up to $43.00 Off**
The Fiocchi Range Dynamics .380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ Brass Case Pistol Ammunition offers an enticingly low price. However, its inconsistent performance significantly undermines its value proposition.
While the price is justified for high-volume plinking if it works in your gun, the potential for malfunctions makes it a questionable choice for serious applications.
