Let’s Talk About Safariland 7305-SP10 7TS ALS/SLS Single Strap Tactical Holster w/Quick Release
The Safariland 7305-SP10 7TS ALS/SLS Single Strap Tactical Holster w/Quick Release is a top-tier duty holster designed for professionals who demand secure weapon retention and rapid deployment. Crafted by Safariland, a name synonymous with quality in the law enforcement and military communities, this holster incorporates their proven Automatic Locking System (ALS) and Self Locking System (SLS) to provide unparalleled firearm security.
My need for this holster stemmed from my role as a tactical training instructor. I needed a reliable and secure holster system that would allow for a full range of motion while demonstrating various tactical maneuvers, and one that could handle the wear and tear of daily training.
Upon unboxing, the Safariland holster immediately impressed me with its robust construction and attention to detail. The SafariSeven material felt incredibly durable and resistant to scratches, while the single strap leg shroud felt both secure and comfortable. It felt like a serious piece of gear ready to be put to the test.
I considered several other drop-leg holsters from brands like Blackhawk and G-Code. However, Safariland’s reputation for retention and durability, combined with the specific ALS/SLS system, swayed my decision.
My first impression was excitement mixed with a healthy dose of respect. This wasn’t just another holster; it was a carefully engineered piece of equipment designed to perform under pressure, and I was eager to see it in action.
Real-World Testing: Putting Safariland 7305-SP10 7TS ALS/SLS Single Strap Tactical Holster w/Quick Release to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing grounds was the shooting range, where I put the Safariland 7305-SP10 through its paces with rapid draws and re-holstering drills. I wanted to replicate the stresses of a real-world tactical scenario.
The holster performed admirably in dry conditions, but the real test came during a rainy training session. The SafariSeven material remained rigid and secure, even when soaked, providing confidence in its all-weather performance.
The ALS/SLS system required a bit of practice to master, but after a few repetitions, drawing and re-holstering became second nature. The straight-draw design felt natural and intuitive.
My only initial issue was the slight adjustment needed to the single leg strap to prevent the holster from shifting during dynamic movements. Once dialed in, however, the system felt incredibly stable.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Safariland 7305-SP10 continues to perform at a high level. There are no signs of wear and tear on the SafariSeven material.
The holster has withstood countless draws and re-holstering cycles, as well as exposure to dirt, sweat, and the general abuse of tactical training. The ALS/SLS mechanisms remain smooth and reliable.
Cleaning the holster is a breeze; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove any grime. The SafariSeven material doesn’t seem to absorb moisture or retain dirt.
Compared to previous holsters I’ve used, the Safariland 7305-SP10 provides a superior combination of retention, durability, and comfort. It’s a clear upgrade over cheaper, less robust options.
