Let’s Talk About BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest
The BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest is BenchMaster’s offering to shooters seeking a stable, adjustable platform without breaking the bank. This ambidextrous rest is crafted from powder-coated steel, aiming to deliver premium quality at a competitive price.
My journey to the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest began with frustration. I needed a reliable platform for sighting in rifles and evaluating ammunition performance. Bipods are great for field use, but they lack the ultimate stability needed for precise adjustments. After much research, the solid construction and value proposition of the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest caught my eye.
Unboxing the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest revealed a surprisingly sturdy piece of equipment. The powder-coated steel felt robust, and the minimal assembly required was straightforward. Picking it up, the weight felt manageable – substantial enough to be stable but not overly heavy for transport. It appeared to be well made and ready to provide a solid shooting experience.
I considered other rests like the Caldwell Lead Sled and the cheaper plastic rests. The Caldwell was much more expensive and heavier, while the plastic models seemed too flimsy. The BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest appeared to strike a good balance between cost, weight, and durability. It was the price-point and overwhelmingly positive initial user reviews that swayed me.
My first impression was positive. The construction felt solid, the adjustments seemed smooth, and the overall design looked functional. I was excited to take it to the range and see if it lived up to its promises of enhanced accuracy and stability.
Real-World Testing: Putting BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest to the Test
First Use Experience
My first field test of the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest occurred at my local outdoor shooting range. The weather was typical for spring in my area: a mix of sunshine and occasional light showers.
The rest proved remarkably easy to set up and adjust. The height adjustment easily handled a .223 AR-15 magazine. The wide U-shaped front rest provided a secure and gentle cradle for the forend of my rifle, and the ballistic nylon stock sling effectively mitigated recoil.
I encountered a minor issue. One of the offset circular feet needed a bit of extra tightening to remain locked in place. After addressing this, the rest functioned flawlessly. My initial groups were noticeably tighter than with a bipod or sandbags alone, making me confident in the rest’s ability to deliver.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest has held up remarkably well. There are some minor scratches in the powder coating, but no signs of any structural weakness or corrosion.
Cleaning the rest is very simple, as the powder-coated finish is resistant to dirt and grime. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually all it needs. The ballistic nylon stock sling hasn’t shown any signs of wear, remaining resilient despite prolonged use.
Having used a variety of shooting rests over the years, I can confidently say the BenchMaster Perfect Shot Shooting Rest exceeds my expectations for a rest in this price range. The durability of the steel, the ease of adjustment, and the added accuracy all contribute to making it a worthwhile addition to my shooting gear.
