The Outdoor Decals Elk Hunter Oval 6″x3″ Black On White is a simple yet effective way to show your passion for elk hunting. Made by Outdoor Decals, this decal is designed to adhere to various surfaces and display your enthusiasm for the sport. Its straightforward design and weatherproof construction make it a potentially long-lasting addition to your vehicle or gear.
I was looking for a subtle way to personalize my hunting truck without being overly flashy. I needed something that was durable enough to withstand the elements, yet simple enough to apply easily. This decal seemed to fit the bill perfectly, offering a classic look without compromising on quality.
The decal arrived in a simple protective envelope, keeping it flat and preventing any creases. The black on white design looked clean and crisp, giving off a professional appearance. It felt durable enough to withstand the elements.
Compared to similar hunting-themed decals I’ve seen, this one stood out because of its classic oval shape and clear contrast. Many others are either too busy in design or made with cheap materials that fade quickly. I chose this one for its simplicity, clean aesthetic, and promise of weatherproof durability.
My first impression was positive, although reserved. I wasn’t blown away, but I wasn’t disappointed either. I was eager to test its application and see how well it held up in real-world conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting Outdoor Decals Elk Hunter Oval 6″x3″ Black On White to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Outdoor Decals Elk Hunter Oval 6″x3″ Black On White on the rear window of my pickup truck. This truck serves as my primary hunting vehicle, and I wanted a durable decal to withstand rugged conditions. Application was straightforward – clean the surface thoroughly, peel off the backing, and apply the decal.
The application process was relatively easy, even in somewhat damp conditions during a light rain shower. The decal adhered well to the glass, and I didn’t notice any immediate issues with bubbling or peeling. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, it stuck firmly.
I didn’t need any special tools, but using a credit card to smooth out any potential air bubbles was helpful. The decal was simple enough that a novice could easily apply it. No specialized expertise was needed.
The first few days went by without any issues; the decal remained firmly in place. I observed no lifting around the edges and it seemed to have bonded well with the glass. My initial concerns about the damp application seemed unfounded.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, including exposure to harsh sunlight, rain, and even some light snow, the Outdoor Decals Elk Hunter Oval 6″x3″ Black On White has held up remarkably well. The black ink has not faded noticeably, and the decal is still firmly adhered to the window.
The decal shows no significant signs of wear and tear, despite facing regular car washes and off-road driving conditions. There are no visible cracks or peeling edges. It seems the “Weatherproof 3 mil vinyl” is standing up to its promise.
Maintenance is minimal; I occasionally wipe it down with a damp cloth when I wash my truck. Other than that, there’s been no need for any special care or cleaning. It really is a fit-and-forget item.
In the past, I’ve used decals that have faded or peeled within a few months. This Outdoor Decals product has significantly outperformed those experiences, demonstrating a higher level of durability and adhesion. I am pleasantly surprised by how well it’s holding up.
