Let’s Dive into Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling
The Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling is a no-nonsense piece of gear designed to enhance the stability and control of your bow during the hunt. Coming in at an accessible price point of $19.99, this sling from Loc Outdoorz aims to provide archers with a reliable and easily adjustable wrist support. I was intrigued to see how this simple yet potentially crucial accessory would perform in real-world hunting scenarios.
For years, I’ve relied on basic finger slings or nothing at all, often finding them either too cumbersome or lacking the necessary support for steady aiming. The promise of quick adjustments and a thicker braided design sparked my interest. My hope was that the Pro Hunt’R Sling would give me the edge I need for more accurate shots in challenging hunting situations.
Upon receiving the Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling, I immediately noticed its lightweight construction and the feel of the braided cord. The composite mounting bracket felt sturdy, but I wondered how it would stand up to repeated use in harsh weather. The design appeared simple and functional, without unnecessary frills, which appealed to my preference for practical gear.
I had been considering a higher-end paracord sling with custom leather accents, but the price tag was a deterrent. Other options included basic nylon slings, which lacked the adjustability I desired. The Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling offered a balance of features and affordability that ultimately swayed my decision.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The sling felt comfortable in my hand, and the adjustment mechanism seemed intuitive. I was eager to take it to the range and, more importantly, into the field to see if it could truly improve my shooting accuracy.
Real-World Testing: Putting Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing ground was a local archery range, where I spent several hours practicing various shooting stances. I wanted to simulate real-world hunting conditions as much as possible. I focused on shooting from elevated platforms and awkward angles.
The Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling performed surprisingly well in dry conditions. The braided cord provided a secure and comfortable grip, preventing the bow from twisting in my hand. Adjusting the sling was quick and easy, allowing me to fine-tune the fit for different gloves and shooting styles.
However, a few days later, I encountered a light drizzle during an early morning practice session. The braided cord became slightly slick when wet, reducing the grip. While not a major issue, it required a firmer hold on the bow, which slightly impacted my aiming stability.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Loc Outdoorz Pro Hunt’R Sling has proven to be a reliable and functional accessory. There are no noticeable signs of wear and tear on the braided cord or the composite mounting bracket. The adjustment mechanism continues to operate smoothly.
The only maintenance required has been an occasional wipe-down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. This is especially important after hunting in muddy or dusty environments. The braid material hasn’t shown any signs of fraying or unraveling.
Compared to my previous experiences with simple finger slings, the Pro Hunt’R Sling offers a significant improvement in stability and control. It allows me to maintain a consistent grip and reduce torque on the bow, resulting in more accurate shots, especially at longer distances. It outperforms cheaper nylon options by providing more secure hand placement.
