Let’s Dive into Trijicon Night Sight Suppressor Set for FN Guns
The Trijicon Night Sight Suppressor Set for FN Guns offers a compelling upgrade for FN pistol owners looking to enhance their low-light shooting capabilities and/or run a suppressor. These sights promise a bright, reliable aiming point that doesn’t rely on batteries, a crucial feature for any serious shooter.
For years, I relied on standard sights, struggling in low-light situations and facing limitations when using a suppressor on my FN 509 Tactical. The promise of improved visibility and suppressor compatibility led me to explore night sight options, and Trijicon‘s reputation for quality and durability made their suppressor height sights a natural choice.
The sights arrived in typical Trijicon packaging: simple, functional, and confidence-inspiring. The initial impression was solid; the metal construction felt robust, and the tritium vials glowed with a reassuring intensity even in a well-lit room. They seemed well-machined and ready for installation.
I had considered other options like XS Sights and Ameriglo, but Trijicon‘s established track record and the promise of a 12-year warranty on the tritium lamps swayed my decision. Plus, the Trijicon name carries a certain weight; it’s a brand trusted by law enforcement and military personnel, and that reputation matters. I needed the sights to co-witness with the red dot I had mounted to my FN 509.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. The build quality seemed excellent, but I knew the real test would come on the range. I was eager to see if the Trijicon Night Sight Suppressor Set for FN Guns would live up to the hype and provide the low-light performance and suppressor clearance I was looking for.
Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Night Sight Suppressor Set for FN Guns to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an indoor shooting range, simulating low-light conditions. The Trijicon sights immediately proved their worth. The green tritium lamps were clearly visible, providing a distinct aiming point against the darkened targets, even with minimal ambient light.
The sights performed flawlessly in the controlled environment of the range. They were easy to acquire and stayed bright. The increased height also provided ample clearance for my suppressor, preventing any obstruction of my sight picture.
However, I did notice one potential issue: the front sight appeared slightly dimmer than the rear. This was a concern noted by other users, and I hoped it wouldn’t impact performance in more challenging conditions.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Trijicon Night Sight Suppressor Set for FN Guns has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of wear or tear on the metal bodies. The tritium lamps continue to glow brightly, even after countless rounds fired.
Cleaning is straightforward. A quick wipe with a solvent-dampened cloth keeps them free of carbon buildup and debris. I’ve experienced no issues with the sights loosening or shifting.
Compared to my previous standard sights, the Trijicon set offers a night-and-day difference in low-light shooting. They provide a clear, consistent aiming point, significantly improving my accuracy and confidence in various lighting conditions.
