Let’s Dive into Ameriglo Protector Sight Set Green Front/Serrated Black Rear Glock 43 GL-705
The Ameriglo Protector Sight Set Green Front/Serrated Black Rear Glock 43 GL-705 is a popular aftermarket sight upgrade designed specifically for the Glock 43, 43X, and 48 pistols. These sights aim to improve target acquisition in various lighting conditions, offering a blend of daytime visibility and nighttime illumination thanks to the tritium insert. With a focus on a clean sight picture and durable construction, the Ameriglo Protector promises to be a significant upgrade over the factory Glock sights.
I’ve always struggled with the stock Glock sights, finding them difficult to quickly acquire, especially in low light. My goal was to find a set of sights that offered enhanced visibility and improved accuracy without compromising the concealability of my Glock 43X. I needed sights that would perform reliably, whether at the range or in a potential self-defense situation.
Unboxing the Ameriglo Protector Sight Set Green Front/Serrated Black Rear Glock 43 GL-705, my initial impression was positive. The sights felt solid and well-made, with a noticeable heft that suggested quality materials. The green tritium dot on the front sight was vibrant, and the serrations on the rear sight looked crisp and functional.
I considered several other options, including Trijicon HD sights and XS Sights F8 Night Sights. Ultimately, the Ameriglo Protector won me over due to its balance of features and price. It offered a similar level of visibility to the Trijicons but at a more affordable price point, and its traditional three-dot configuration felt more intuitive than the XS Sights’ dot-the-I system.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. I was excited to see how these sights would perform on the range, but also slightly apprehensive about the installation process. I was hoping for a significant improvement in my shooting accuracy and speed, particularly in less-than-ideal lighting conditions.

First Use Experience
I installed the Ameriglo Protector Sight Set Green Front/Serrated Black Rear Glock 43 GL-705 on my Glock 43X and immediately headed to my local indoor range. The controlled environment allowed me to focus on the sight picture and overall performance. I primarily tested the sights at distances of 7, 10, and 15 yards.
The difference between the Ameriglo Protector and the factory Glock sights was immediately noticeable. The bright green front sight dot was incredibly easy to pick up, even under the range’s fluorescent lighting. The serrated black rear sight effectively minimized glare, allowing me to focus solely on the front sight.
The sights were easy to adjust to, providing a clear and intuitive sight picture. I experienced no initial issues or surprises, and the installation process, while requiring a sight pusher tool, was straightforward. The enhanced visibility significantly improved my shot groupings compared to using the factory sights, building confidence in my ability to use them effectively.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use, the Ameriglo Protector Sight Set Green Front/Serrated Black Rear Glock 43 GL-705 has proven to be incredibly durable. I’ve put several hundred rounds through my Glock 43X since installing these sights, and they show no signs of wear or tear. I’ve carried them daily.
The tritium insert remains bright and easily visible in low-light conditions, and the serrations on the rear sight continue to effectively reduce glare. Regular cleaning with a nylon brush and solvent keeps the sights in top condition, proving them easy to maintain. They resist scratching.
Compared to my previous experiences with other aftermarket sights, the Ameriglo Protector has exceeded my expectations in terms of both performance and durability. These sights have significantly improved my shooting accuracy and speed, and their robust construction ensures they’ll withstand the rigors of everyday carry and range use. I am very pleased with how they’ve held up.

These specifications are crucial for performance because they directly impact target acquisition speed and accuracy.
