First Use Experience
I first slapped the Maxpedition Paul Bunyan Morale Patch, 1.7×2.0in onto my Maxpedition Falcon-II backpack, which is my go-to bag for hiking and day trips. I took it on a moderately challenging hike through the local state park, which involved some scrambling over rocks and navigating through dense brush. The weather was sunny and dry, a perfect day for testing gear.
The patch stayed securely attached to the loop field on my backpack throughout the entire hike. Even with branches brushing against the bag and some minor jostling, it never budged. I appreciated the confidence that came with knowing it wasn’t going to fall off and get lost somewhere on the trail.
Attaching the patch was incredibly easy. The hook backing adhered firmly to the loop lining of the backpack. No fuss, no muss – just a secure and reliable attachment.
There were no immediate issues after the first use. The patch looked as good as new, and the colors remained vibrant. It was a promising start.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the Maxpedition Paul Bunyan Morale Patch, 1.7×2.0in has held up remarkably well. It’s been exposed to rain, mud, dust, and the occasional accidental scrape against rocks and tree trunks. Despite all this, it still looks fantastic.

Cleaning the patch is simple. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually all it takes to remove any dirt or grime. It’s low-maintenance and durable, exactly what I expect from a Maxpedition product.
Compared to other patches I’ve owned in the past, the Maxpedition Paul Bunyan Morale Patch, 1.7×2.0in definitely outperforms them in terms of durability and longevity. Some of my older patches have frayed edges or faded colors after just a few months of use. This one is built to last.
