The Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target offers a simple, affordable way to practice your shooting skills with readily available clay targets. This target system, consisting of four clay target holders and rods, promises a durable and reusable solution for shooters of all skill levels. I first stumbled upon the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target while searching for a more engaging and dynamic alternative to traditional paper targets.
Tired of the static nature of paper targets, I wanted something that added a bit of realism and challenge to my range sessions. Unboxing the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target, my initial impression was one of utilitarian simplicity. The self-healing impact seal material felt robust and the overall design seemed straightforward, suggesting easy setup and use.
Compared to other target systems I’ve used, like reactive steel targets that are more expensive and require specific ammunition, or flimsy cardboard stands, the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target offered a compelling middle ground. Its price point was attractive and the promise of holding standard clay targets sealed the deal. My first impression was cautiously optimistic; the true test would be how well it held up to repeated use and various calibers.
Real-World Testing: Putting Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial test of the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target took place at my local shooting range, an outdoor facility with distances ranging from 25 to 100 yards. I set up the four target holders at varying distances, using standard clay targets I purchased at the range. I primarily used a .22LR rifle and a 9mm pistol during this first session to assess the target’s resilience with different calibers.
The weather was dry and mild, ideal conditions for target practice. Setting up the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target was quick and easy, requiring only a few minutes to insert the rods into the ground and place the clay targets. During my first shooting session, the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target performed as expected, holding the clay targets securely.
I experienced some minor movement in softer ground, which required occasional readjustment. The self-healing material seemed to work well, closing up after each shot from both the .22LR and 9mm.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target has proven to be a reliable and enjoyable addition to my shooting routine. The durability of the self-healing material is impressive. Even after hundreds of rounds, there are no signs of cracking or breaking, a testament to Do All Outdoors’s commitment to quality materials.
Maintenance is virtually nonexistent; I occasionally wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Compared to paper targets that need constant replacing, the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target offers a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative. My previous experiences with similar target holders often involved flimsy plastic that quickly broke, but the Do All Outdoors Pigeon Perch Target has significantly outperformed these in terms of longevity and durability.
