The one thing I can never figure out is WHY people open their doors to someone they don't know? If you don't know 'em, and you're not expecting anyone, then why open the door? dumb, dumb, dumb

Yes if someone is 'pounding on my door' at 1:00am I would not open it, but since he had a chain lock I guess he 'thought' he was doing the right thing. I have to assume he did not have a peep hole. I have, and also a window by the front door. If someone came pounding on my door at 1:00 am I would certainly be armed when I came to the door, and I would NOT open it for people I did not know. Notice the small caliber gun he used to send these guys running for their lives? Certainly not my first choice, a .32, but as I have said home invasions are normally done by some crack head looking for fast money, not commandos. As soon as he started shooting they all ran.

but Westfall had a .32-caliber automatic pistol, which he began firing. That caused the intruders to flee the house, police said.

After my intruder tried to do the same thing, pounding on the doors and windows after 12:30am, I was completely mystified. Why try to rob a house that's occupied? Why not choose a house where no one is home? That's when the cops told me that many of these home invasions are done deliberately while someone is home, so they have a good excuse to rape, murder, and plunder. They ENJOY it! That one was hard for me to get my mind around! Yet, the fact that I did NOT open my door, slowed the scumbag down enough for me to get my gun and call 911. He was still determined to get in. A .32 wouldn't be my choice for self-defense, either. So they know that there were 3-6 of these perps? 3-6 against 1? And gun control freakos can't figure out why anyone would need a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds????????

You aren't thinking logically. Suppose you are a nutcase that goes around raping and murdering anyway. Why not do it in people's homes where you are out of public view and get to steal a bunch of stuff too?

One of the latest fools to wander along has determined that 7 is all you need. Better spend time practicing!

From the statistics Ive seen (and I don't EVEN want to discuss the interpretation of statistics) is that there is a high percentage of shots that miss, no matter how good of a marksman you may be, when in a life threatening (excited) situation. If that is true, and I have every reason to believe it is true, then seems to me you'd need all the rounds you can get if you happen to have an intruder who brings along a buddy or two or three or . . .

I'd be willing to bet that these gun freakos who want to put all these bans on guns would be singing a different tune the day after they had to deal with a home invasion, unarmed.

I'm not the 'fool' you refer to about 7 rounds but in most situations it is a single criminal you have to face. In those cases 7 rounds should be enough. If not, like you said, better practice! Anyway, in less common cases like the 3 on one thing, I agree that you might need more.

But consider: If you are facing 3 ARMED criminals, you probably better hope your peace has been made, because unless you are lucky your show is soon to be over regardless of your magazine size. In the case that you face 3 criminals, only 1 of whom is armed with a gun, it is likely that you will have 1 or 2 dead or dying with the remaining 1 or 2 fleeing before 7 rounds are used.

In short: More ammo never hurts. Seven rounds is almost always enough. Sometimes no amount would be enough. Don't over state the

Probably would be. Burt then they would only want the law to allow them to have the guns and not everyone.

I'm not so sure. I think the problem is their extreme lack of basic comprehension of the world around them. There is just as good of a chance that they would think 'why can't we get rid of all the guns' as the intruder shot them.

Always smart. There was a bizarre case close to me yesterday. Couple was sleeping with window to the bedroom open. Guy crawled in, started fondling woman while husband was sleeping. She at first thought husband was doing it. When she realized it was not him she screamed, husband woke up, pervert jumped out window and was gone. They bought some of those little clamps you can screw to the window track to keep it from being opened from outside. I hope the next time this clown tries this he crawls through a window where the owner is armed. If all goes well we will not have to support him for the rest of his life, not to mention listen to his friends tell anyone who will listen that he's really a 'very nice guy'.
