I have a Winchester model 1894 chambered for 30 WCF, octagon barrel, tight action, about 60-70% condition. Serial #855550. Could anyone tell me the year and approx. value of this gun please? Also, is this the same as the 30-30 cartridge. Thanks for your help.

hi rouge,
your winchester was manufactored in 1919. the value is going to be $1200 plus in the stated condition. the WCF 30 was winchesters name for the round and when marlin started making rifles chambered in this round they changed the name to 30-30 in that it was a 30 caliber with 30 grains of black powder or equivilant. they are the same round.
