your model 43 was made from 1949-1957 and made in 2 grades ,,a standard grade and a delux grade ,,the differance being checkered stock and rear sites on the delux grade ,,book prices are 400 good-650 exc for the standard grade and add 100 to these prices for a delux checkered model,,dealers will proably offer you in the 200-300 range cash or on a trade

hello montana,,first off the scope on this model will not increase the value of it to a collector,,in fact it will deter the value to a collector because it's been drilled and tapped ,,even to a gundealer the scope on a rifle will usually not increase what he will pay for it,,because most dealers will remove the scopes and sell them seperatly,,with that in mind at auction or a private sale your 43 would proably bring between 275-350 mabey a little more to the right person looking for a nice varmit rifle with a nice scope,,thats as close as i can get the price for you,,,

yes it is "if it's been drilled and taped for a scope",,if it hasen't then it would be worth more,,, drilling and tapping vintage collector rifles will not increase the value to a collector,,and your rifle is a collectable rifle providing it is original condition with proper sites,, a leoupold scope was not an option on a model 43 to the best of my knowledge ,,and as i stated dealers buy gun not scopes,,the dealers i know will take a scope off if it comes with most rifles if the scope is a good one and sell it seperatly,,they may throw a cheap one on if they want to offer it with a scope but will not leave a valuable scope on when they can sell it seperatly ,, they have told me many times that most people put scopes on to suit themselves,,not who will buy it next,,your scope alone may be worth a couple hundred depending which one you have,, but with the rifle doesn't increase the value to a "collector" to a varmit hunter it may because he wants it to hunt with,,but the collectors usually pay more for untouched guns than the average hunter,,sorry but thats just the way a vintage winchester collector would look at your rifle,,
