I have a Walther P-38 that my father-in-law brought home from Germany, after WWII. The gun is in excellent condition, has the brown bakelite(?) grip panels and all the serial numbers match on the weapon. I also have the original leather holster, which has the small pocket for a spare magazine molded onto the front. Ser# is: 1889K It has 'AC' above the number 43 on it's left side, and Reich proof marks with the number 358 on the right side.

Any idea when it would have been made, and values? I'm thinking maybe 1943, due to the good quality.

proably a first variation and made in or around 1943,,with holster and all matching including mag i would estimate the value to be 700-1000+ to a collector or at auction..there were 130,000 AC43 pistols made and are fairly common in the p38 sector,,but still a nice hand me down and will surely go up as it gets older..
