hello sounds like a nice find in your barn,,i need some more info before i can tell you more about it and a possible value,,i need the date and there should be a 3 letter code above the date or letters and numbers like bnz or s/42 or something like that,,next i need ya to tell me about other markings on it ..german eagles on the left side of the barrel where it meets the receiver,,then we need to see how correct it is look for serial numbers on the barrel by the eagles and the receiver ,,also look for numbers on the stock... if it's a k-98 it will have a sling slot about midway between the trigger guard and the buttplate,,if theres a circular disk and no sling cut it may be a G98 if it has the sling cut look for german eagles between the sling cut and the buttplate..these may be hard to see so check it in good lighting,,then look at the serial number again and the bolt should have the last 3 digits of the number stamped on the saftey the bolt shroud and bolt handle and also the serial should match on the triggeruard and barrel bands,,also let me know if it's a straight bolt or it's turned down,,that will keep ya busy for awhile ..

,,when you get those questions figured out i may have a couple more,,beleive me if it's an original german rifle depending on the code and date it may be upwards of 1000+ in value but we need to know how correct and what model it is before i can even guess a value and a pic would be very helpful if you can
