I recently required a colt from my grandfather who got it from his father he had it in ww1.can you help me adentify the gun this is what I have.Its a colt 45 revolver.the numbers on it are 96184 below that is the letter E.its a six shot about a 139 to 140mm barrel.above the grip is a horse on its hind legs with looks like to be an arrow in its mouth and one in between its front legs.Down by the trigger gaurd is the number 3.On the other side of the trigger gaurd looks like to be an up side down triangle with the letters vp by the looks of it.It has 2 crossed flags in front of the revolver chamber and a crown with a design above it and what looks like to be the letter and number L3 below it thats between the hammer and the revolver chamber.It says new service 455 eley on the barrel could you possibly help with identifing this gun and aproximate what its worth the family thinks its worth alot but after reading different guns on here Im not sure anymore could you please help thank you

hello ,,you have a New Service revolver and there are many variations of this pistol ,,our other moderator siliconescorcher would be better on this one than i am but.. thats the model ,,mabey he can help on the markings ,,value could be anywhere between 500-1000+ and i know condition is one of the key factors with old colt revolvers ,,if you can post a pic ..and mabey he will chime in here and give us his imput ,,
