I have a 30/30 winchester model 94 that i was told was made in 1936 or 1937 i know it is a pre 1964 due to the fact the cartridges eject from the top also it has the button safety under the lever i have not seen another rifle like this, is that common for that year? i believe the serial number is 1157940
Your rifle was manufactured in November of 1936. The fact that the empty cartridges eject from the top has nothing to do with whether the rifle was manufactured before or after 1964. The AE, or Angle Eject was a later change.
If the serial number is 1157940, the date of manufacture is December 20th, 1937. The small pin under the lever is referred to as the "trigger block safety plunger", and it was a standard feature on all Model 1894 and 94 rifles and carbines.
any idea on value a ball park figure? not looking to sell just curious and i didnt know that about the ae i thought wrong i guess...you say my rifle was made in november of 36...any idea why bert says december of 37?
The AE (Angle Eject) was first introduced in the year 1983.
I have no explanation for how or why 2bit came up with the November 1936 date, but I can assure you that the date I provided you is 100% accurate. I have spent many years researching and studying the Model 1894/94, and as such, I have copies of many of the original factory records.
In answer to your question concerning the value, we need to see several clear close-up pictures of the gun in order to properly assess the graded condition and value.
Sorry for the confusion, Bert is absolutely correct in his date. I just looked at the incorrect year on the spread sheet I was using.
hello i need help finding the year mine was made. the sheet i found left out 1951 thru 1959 in which i think mine was made. the serial number is 2209727. please email me an answer if possible at <email>
Your rifle was manufactured during 1957.
