In Feb, 1984, I purchased a 1984 Dodge Marksman pickup. As an insentive, they gave me a Winchester model 94XTR, 30-30 rifle. It has an insert about 1.5" diameter in the walnut stock, that is gold in color, that says "1984 Dodge Marksman" with "Winchester". It has a gold colored sadle ring, and the location where you insert the shells is also gold in color. The stock is checkered and the magazine has swirl finish in the metal.

I have this rifle in the original box it was shipped in, and it has never been outside or a shell fired through it. It has all the paper work and look brand new.

When they gave me the rifle, the dealer told me that Winchester only made so many of these commemorative rifles.

The ser# is 5067185

How can I determine what this rifle might be worth?

hi billy,
To have any collector potential/value they must be NIB with all supplied materials including all paper work, original carton/carton wrapping, instructions, hardcase etc. If the rifle has even been so much as cocked, it can effectively lower the value.

A number of commemoratives have been ordered by outside concerns and are therefor not consider to be "factory issues". Such seems to be the case with the Chevy Outdoorsman/s.

Due to the above it is a bit difficult for me to give you a fair and 100% accurate market value on this type of rifle. I can tell you that some of the factory issued commemorative rifles sell for as little as a few hundred dollars and several for thousands of dollars.

If you were to be able to locate a collector and/or dealer who specialized in these rifles and your particular model the "value" would be more. Otherwise your 30-30 would only have a retail value of what any comparative year, make, model would have without the commemorative stampings on it. JMHO

I might be interested in purchasing your rifle!

What have you found out about it? What price would it be? What area of the country do you live? Etc.

Thanks, Fox

I have not spent much time looking for a value for the gun. I have my own business and don't have much time for this sort of thing.

I have no idea how much to ask for.

I do have all the papers, and the box it was packed in.

Thanks
Bill

Thanks for the response. Do you have the truck that goes with it? Take your time and we can both give it some thought. When ever!

Fox

p.s. Would love to look at it sometime down the road if and when you might consider selling. --- Etc.

I forgot to tell you that I live in the Dallas, Texas area, Duncanville.

I do not have the truck anymore, never even considered that might be a selling point. I have been saving the gun for the grandkids education, at least part of it.

Thanks, Bill

I have tried everything I know to get a value, but always come up short.
Maybe if Chrysler Dodge go under, then some one will be wanting to make an offer.
It's like everything else. Anything, is only worth, what someone is willing to pay.
I hope you have better luck than I have.

Keep trying,
Bill

jmam. Where do you live? I am in Southwest Iowa and would like to buy such a gun. I would like to hear from ya especially if you are close. Not sure of value but we could talk.

Thanks

Foxfire (Fox)

p.s. I will ask some people in the know about guns but they probably won't know exactly cause this is kinda different. Probably can come close tho.
