I am trying to sell some guns for a friend that had her husband pass away a few years back. One of the guns is a Winchester Model 94AE 30-30 in excellent shape. What would be a fair price for something like this. Thanks for the help

JackJr,

OK Jack you are going to have to do a bit of work here and try to tell me a bit more about the rifle. The reason is that there are many versions of the 94AE and they are selling for $550 to $3000!!! Just a bit of a range here. Is the receiver engraved? Is the lever ridiculously large? Does she have the box? Was she furious that he spent that much for a gun way back then? Please send some photos to help nail this down.

Thanks

Jack,

And you are correct. It should be "plain", unadorned, not fancy, Jane not the flat featureless area or "plane" Jane. I am sure my English teacher just rolled in her grave.

The rifle is a 1986 version. My guess is that it is in Very Good condition unless he stored it in the trunk of the car. That said it is about a $350 to $450 rifle. Just a lot of them out there, And nothing to seperate it from the pack.

Good luck

Jack,

I have The same Remington rifle. It was my fathers and he killed a lot of deer with it. I've shot a hand full myself and last year my 20 year old daughter got her first deer with it. It's valued at 1.5 million dollars right now. My 17 year old is next! The clip should be an easy replacement. I actually have 2 of them. Let me do some looking around and I'll check on prices and availability.

Jack,

Try the link below for the clip. There are lots of shops that deal in 742 parts. It will take a bit of phone work but I bet you will find one.
