I have a Winchester Model 1894 take down in 30 WCF. I researched the manufacturers date and found it was made in 1905. It has been in the family since originally purchased and I have been told it is in very good condition. There is some bluing wear(in the form of an arch) on the receiver from a sight (no longer have) and I believe there is a bit of rebluing that was done on the barrel. The bore is clean and the stock is free of cracks but with some bumps. I am curious what this weapon would be valued at. I have not had it appraised and was wondering if I should for insurance purposes. I do not have any pictures at this time but if need be I think I can manage some. Any comments would be appreciated.

sounds like a nice family keepsake item,,for replacement insurance purposes id estimate your rifle from your description and year on manufacture at 1000-1500,,mabey a little more but a hands on evaluation would be nessasary by a knowledgable winchester collector for further appraisal values..
