hi fox,
your model 61 was manufactured in 1951, value should be 800 - 1000 but could be much higher. a hands on appraisal by an insurance adjuster would be your best bet.

I have a Model 61 with serial number 51427. Do you know roughly the price range that it's worth?

since it's serial number is pretty close to the othe on the estimate would be roughly the same depending on condition and grade and yours would have been made in 1955..

I have a post war mdl 61 passed along to me by an Uncle. It is conservatively estimated to be in very good condition with only a few "ring" indents on the forearm. I doubt one hundred rounds ever entered the chamber.

I plan to pass it along to my Uncle's grandchild as a wedding gift. The guys should get wedding presents too, don't you agree? Other than the little information I discover on the internet, what additional information should I pass along. Value would prevent this younger generation from easily disposing of the .22 but what else would you suggest?

hello ,,ya know everybody buy ya a toaster or hand towels or something yea you'll use but not what ya really would like to see ..lol..now i like your way of thinking about passing on a keepsake ,,

..id stress that this is something that will certainly keep going up as the years pass ,,and even right now it isn't a 100 buck throw in the truck rifle ,,also let them know that winchesters like this one are few and far between ,,i might also throw in that if they gotta ever sell it to let you know before they take it to a gunshop and get 150-200 for it ,,kids today want the shiny plastic guns.. and not many appreicate the worksmanship the older rifles had put into them..

..hopefully he's got a wife that isn't a tree hugger who think guns are the root of all evil!!If thats the case give them a card with 50 bucks in it and keep the winchester and give it the the grandkids when they become old enough to start shooting ,,it would give you some quality time with them and you'll be able to teach them the right way to handle firearms ,,either way it's a great idea and with the family history behind it it's priceless!

My Model 61 is serial number 57025, round barrel and I would call it 95% perfect. Bought new by a friend in the 40s. It couldn't have 500 rounds total through it. Any value?
