Winchester model 1897 serial #42xxx 12 guage pump action shotgun good condition

hello,,your md 97 pumpgun was made in 1909 and value for a standard model would be around 400-500 in good original condition,,if it's been refinished in any way the value would be lower to a winchester collector..if it's a nicer grade then the price would proably be higher..

I dug an old Winchester 97 out of the closet recently. I bought it from a co-worker in 1982 who needed $125 badly. Now I'm wondering what I have The Serial Number on the underside is 945758X. Any idea when it was manufactured?

If the number is 945758 it was manufactured in 1949.
