What would be the value on a winchester mod 1200 with 28" mod barrel? The serial number is 470186. What would be the age of this gun?

hi hamlett,
the serial no you gave is for a model 12 that was manufactured in 1927. for a plain jane model 12 of that year you should see $700 - $900 if it's in good to excellent condition.

Thanks for the information. I gave $100 for it but I was afraid it was one of the guns they made with the alloy receiver. If its that old it would have a steel receiver and is probably a good serviceable gun and I got a good deal on it.

you got a great deal, it's easy to tell the differance between alloy and steel just by the wieght.
