I recently made a trade for a Winchester 94AE
It has a Black stock and is stainless steel(proof steel)stamped made in New Haven Conn..it is immaculate. The previous owner said he was a machinist for Winchester and the gun was a present from the President of the company and the gun was made specially for the Navy.It has serial #6379533 ..it came with a engraved (appears chrome)plate on the case with the winchester rider. Is this all bull? whats the value?

hello,,id suggest if you have doubts about the story to contact the coty museaum ,,for a fee of i think it's 45 bucks they will do the research on your winchester ,,and it's possible it could be something that was presented to a worker,,i can't find any refrence to winchester building model 94 ae rifles for the navy,,but thats not saying it might not have been something that was a tested by the navy,,but i can't see why the navy would want a levergun when they have semi auto rifles in there arsenal,,but again anything is possible i guess..in any event the coty people should be able to definattly tell you if it is authenic and for the money if it was a special edition test run the letter they send you would increase the value IF it is something that was presented to or awarded to someone as a presentation award,,i can tell you that most md 94's came with wood stocks and blued finish except for the Black Shadow editions and most commemorative editions rifles were limited production and usually have fancy engraveing or special features commemorating a state or historical event or person in history..let us know if you find anything else on it ,,i'm kinda curious and i'll do some searching to see what i can find..
