hello nancy,,you don't know how many times i've answered a question on the mystery years winchester 94's,,lol,,anyway winchester did not keep exact year production numbers during ww2,,in 1942 the last recorded serial number was 1221289 and during the war years no records are available ,,then after the war ended they resumed serial number data starting in 1948 with the number 1500000,,so that said yours was made during ww2 between 42-47,,as for value in good condition id say proably 450 and in excellent condition around the 750 mark mabey a little higher if extra clean,,to a collector or at auction,,dealers amy offer in the 175-300 range depending how clean it is ,,

Thank you so much for you quick reply. This gun was my dad's and it is really in excellent condition. (I bet you hear that all the time, but it is It also has a scope on it. I have several of his guns that I am going to attempt to find the value of. Am I understanding you correctly, it may be valued up to $750, but a a dealer may only offer around 175-300?

Again, that you for this information. It is greatly appreciated. ncy

hello again nancy ,,a scope may drop the value especially if the winchester has been drilled for the scope ,,collectors look for the old winchesters from war time or pre ww2 era,,but if it's been drilled and taped for a side mounted scope then values go way down and it becomes more a hunting rifle than a collectors peice,,but there were some scope mounts that were a no drill mount and if the mount can be taken off and there aren't holes drilled into the side of the receiver then your ok ,,it was a practice to mount side mounts on the old winchesters in the 50's untill winchester deceided to use pre drilled holes for scope mounting but it will take away quite abit of collectors intrest in the pre 64 guns because of it ...still a great deer rifle and many many are still being used to this day both older ones and newer ones as for the value drilled and tapped i'd have to lower the original figures to 275-400,,to the right person looking for a good hunting rifle ,,sorry but a good rule of thumb with any older gun that isn't drilled and tapped for a scope is to leave it alone because you really take away the collectors intrest when you do,,what else do ya need help with?

Thank you again for the information. The scope was put on because my dad was quite the deer hunter. I will have to check and see how the scope was put on. If you don't mind I have a few others that I don't have any informtion on. My husband would have to check the model and serial number. It may be a day or do. Could you look them up for me? If you aren't able to, I would understand. Thanks again, Nancy

no problem nancy.. thats what i'm here for !always willing to help someone who needs help and i usually try to give both ends of the spectrum.. auction and collector value and actual gundealer value,,that way people won't be shocked when a gundealer offers a lowball figure on a high dollar item..gundealers are in the bussieness of making money,,so they always try to buy for nothing so they can make a buck or why get involved with the paperwork!

Thanks again, Nancy

hi again nancy,,i'll go in the order you listed them ,
1,,the model 12 winchester ,,made in 1930 and the 20 ga models seem to be very popular with hunters..and alot of these are still in use today ,, and i'd value it for a standard grade 300-600..mabey alittle more if special features or extra clean at auction or to a collector,,dealers may offer in the 250-300 range..
2,,mossberg new haven 250c,i check three different price guides on this one ,,and don't have a listing for the c model,,i did find the 250 k model and it was introduced in in 1960 and basically a lower priced version of the 350 mossberg series ,,new haven was a trade name for economy versions of mossberg guns and sold in many chain stores,,value would be in the 125-150 range ,,dealers will proably offer in the 75 to mabey 100 range..
3,,mossberg 142k made from 1953-1957..and value would be 150-175 range ,,on the k model the sites were changed form the original peep to open sites ,,dealers will proably offer in the 100 -mabey 125 range if extra clean,,
that should give you an idea of the value ranges to look for.. sometimes depending on conditions these could be a little higher or lower ,,and a dealers buys cheap to resell and make a profit,,collectors or auction prices generally are higher but it all depends on the collector intrest and actual condition and like on the md 12 the different features or grade they were available in and originality and functioning properly..
