hello,,your model 92 winchester is a first year rifle made in 1892,,prices could be in the thousands of dollars and without a hands on apprasial exact values would only be a guess,,your best bet would be to find an antique firearm dealer and have it professionally appraised ,,the cody winchester museum can do a history search on your rifle for a fee ..and it's well worth the small fee they charge and will increase the value if your looking to sell it or for insurance value,,

...i'll give you a ball park figure if all original with original finish and hasn't been altered at 2500-3000 in fair -good condition to a collector or at auction,,and i'm sure if all original would go much higher,,thats the best advice i can gove with what you gave for a description...

I have two Model 1892 rifles in the 6400 number range. Paid $2400 to $3300 for them. The higher priced gun is in excellent condition. I am looking to add to the collection in a very narrow SN range. If you are interested in selling the rifle please post as such. The sight behind the hammer is refered to as a "tang peep sight" and were quite popular on Winchester rifles. It may or may not be factory original.

Thanks

I have a Winchester model 1892 .32 WCF model number 79086, the gun is in great working order and has never been reblued or touched, it has some wear on the stock where it looks as if it was carried in a wagon and has 9 marks on the side, I assume from either deer, men or indians shot. I am interested in selling if you might know where I should go to, to get the best price.

Thanks Debbie

Debbie,

A little political correctness here. My bet is most "Indians" would qualify as men!!!
