Dear Guest
I see you posted this question in the Remington forum. That's fine, but just as a point of interest, you might like to know that after 1927 there was no connection at all between Remington Rand and the Remington Firearms Company. Remington merged its typewriter company with Rand Kardex in that year and sold it off. After that time, the only similarity was in the names of the two companies.
During WWII, Remington Rand was pressed into service to help produce the M1911A1 when Colt's Patent Firearms Company could not meet government quotas for the needed small arms. Other unlikely companies like Singer were also used.
Regards,
JP
